Prototype Central is just too much of a hassle for me and my man-on-the-run lifestyle. It seems like every time I hit refresh, there are five new topics that need to be closed and an equal amount of posters who need a good, stern talking to. I mean, for christ's sake, you people are savages! I'm just not a tough enough moderator, I'm not up to the job, so I'm stepping down. AlanD has taken my place. Alan's a good man, and he has a truck with a license plate that says COIN-OP, which makes him cooler than all of you.

...actually, nobody ever posts here, and Joe fired me for not properly representing Digital Press' best interests or some shit, but the whole forced resignation thing sounds nicer. I'm not going anywhere, I'll still be around to offer snide comments mixed with occasional useful information.

So yes! Treat AlanD with more respect than you treated me, because he actually deserves it.

Thanks for the intro, TRE.

As TheRedEye said, I'll be taking over as moderator for the Prototype Forum. I'm new to being a moderator of a forum so bear with me if I do something dumb.

A little about me just so you know what experience I have. I have been collecting for about 12 years and mainly deal with mainstream classic systems but I am especially focused on the Atari computers. I have only about a dozen or so prototypes covering Genesis, 32X, 5200, Game Gear and Gameboy. In the distant past, I dumped quite a few of the roms you find online especially third party NES and Atari-8. Also I have been dealing with arcade game restoration and repair for about 7 years. Basically what that means is I am familiar with electronics, electronic repair and prototypes but by no means an expert on any of it.

I'm sure that this forum will make my job easy as it is not usually the hotbed of controversy that Off Topic or Marketplace can be. Thanks for having me and I'm sure I'll enjoy my tenure here (however short it may be ;))

Yo Frank, you rocked. Best of luck with ummm, everything else you do. Don't be a stranger. Congrats, Alan D!

Next time, don't use the DP company copier to photocopy your ass, Red!
