Today I did some trading with a board member and picked up Sega Arcade Classics -- the new PS2 collection. I spent a couple hours with it and it's quite good.

It got me thinking -- if I'm going to buy a classic game collection for a modern system I want REMAKES on it. If I want to play the original games I'll jsut fire up MAME or play one of the many original versions that have been released over the years for numerous systems.

So besides Sega Arcade Classics, the upcoming Phantasy Star Collection for the PS2, and Konami Arcade Classics for the GBA, what other classic game collections have remakes of them?

Namco Museum for PS2

EDIT: Did the GBA Konami collection have remakes (or enhanced or arrangement or whatever). I have been playing that one a lot and I haven't seen that, is it hidden or something?

Yes, many of the games do. You need to enter the Konami Code on the menu.

Or jsut read my FAQ at GameFAQ's. ;)

I'm pretty sure the Namco Museum for the PSP will have several remakes of Namco games, including Galaga.

Are you only interested in compilations or individual remakes too? There was a feature on remakes in an issue of DP a while back that might be helpful.

Boulder Dash EX? Perhaps the remade version of Green Hill in Sonic Adventure 2?

...I dunno, personally I buy the original games more than the collections. :/
