I mean, I bought Choaniki for christ's sakes! LOL

It may be small, but damned if it isn't beautiful. Lots of shooter goodness, and holy hell Elevator Action! X_x

Hope you get a good laugh from Cho Aniki...IIRC it got a RetroCore Score (http://www.segagagadomain.com/retrocore.htm) of "complete shite".

Pretty dang good. Unfortunately it's very hard to find these days and the price has jumped up from all accounts I've seen and heard from. I got mine for 45 total in 2003 but I hear today they go for 65+ on the spot easily. Just one of those games that got price inflated.

It's a very good arcade action game though. 6 levels, takes you about 45-50 minutes to beat... fun... but worth 70 bucks? Up to you..

But its a damn fine collection none the less.

That's what I was going to say. :P

Someday, when I get into Saturn importing, Castlevania, TwinBee, and Choaniki will probably be my first purchases. You already got all my must-haves. :)

I wouldn't call it that small either, by import collection standards ('cause, really, you can't expect to have a Japanese collection as massive as the US collections around here when Japanese games are so much harder to get and more expensive for US folk). Heck, you have more imports for Saturn than I do for any other particular console, with the exception of PlayStation (which is nothing to brag about since they're mostly Japanese versions of games that I now have in US form). You even beat out in quantity my Super Famicom collection, which my favorite system to import for.

If you are really into Saturn imports, for the fun of playing them, then I highly suggest getting a modded Saturn and some Import backups.

Sure, it's highly illegal, and totally immoral, and downright shamefull, but the key is that you get to actually try all these damn games out, for virtually nothing, and then if you find that you really, really like a certain game, then go ahead and pay a totally exhorbiant price for it on Ebay.

No harm in trying the backups to determine what really, truly is a must own title that you can't live without.

Hey there cauterize.

RS cost me $70.00 when it was first released. The cool part was that the owner of the store I bought it from really recommended that I should buy it, especially if I love shmups. Needless to say, I was glad I did. :)

As for the soundtrack, I bought that a couple of days after the game because I instantly fell in love with the RS soundtrack. Since I didn't want to ruin my Saturn game, I thought it was better to buy the soundtrack instead.

What's up?

Haikaider is based on the live-action movie of the same name and even follows the same storyline.

It plays like a Virtua Cop/House Of The Dead/Resident Evil: Gun Survivor title where you use Hakaider's shotgun to wreak havoc on the bad guys.

There are even exploration elements to the game where you have to go into different areas using the control pad as opposed to the Stunner.

Unfortunately, since I can't read Japanese, I didn't get very far in the game because I got stuck in one of the mazes in which I had to read some signs to figure out where I needed to go.

Not a bad game based on the Hakaider franchise. If you can, give the movie a look and get a general idea of what kind of a 'bad-ass' character Hakaider is.

GunPanther

How is Elevator Action for Saturn? I kinda want it.

THE ONE, THE ONLY- RCM

Elevator Action (2) Returns is a great update to the original 1980's game which it's based on.

It's still got the same side scrolling elements that the original game had, but this time, all the characters are hand-drawn and beautifully animated. If you've ever played "Symphony Of The Night" for the PS1, that's pretty much the same quality and type of animation you get for ALL of the characters (good guys and enemies alike) in Elevator Action Returns.

In addition to the updated graphics, weapons such as rocket launchers and machine guns can be found in randomly placed 'blue' doors. The traditional 'red' doors still exist and are still required for you to check in order to complete each level. Each of the 3 playable characters have several differences between them;

------------------------------------------

"Kart Bradfield" (The fit, agile guy) -

Carries a Glog 18 (Glock 18C in real life) pistol which has mid range stopping power (some enemies can take 2-3 shots before dying) and has a very decent firing rate with it. He can move and fire faster than Jad, but is a bit slower than Edie.

His secondary weapon is a 'Hand Grenade' which, when thrown, explodes and kills enemies with it's scattering shrapnel. (It's time delayed and goes off about 2 seconds after it's thrown)

If Kart manages to find a 'Machine Gun' power up, he finds and uses an AK-47 Rifle.

When close to an enemy, Kart attacks with a left/right punch combo to the face of his opponent.

His stamina is also in the mid range and he can take about 3 bullet hits before dying.

-------------------------------------------------------------

"Edie Burret" (the lone female character)

She carries a Berltta M92F (Beretta M92F in real life) and her secondary weapon is a 'Fire Bomb' which casts a wall of flame in both horizontal directions, burning all enemies the flame touches (Complete with keen 'flaming death' animations too).

Out of all three characters, Edie is the fastest handgun shooter and runner. She can fire her sidearm as fast as you can press the button, but the power of the gun's cartridges is easily the weakest (some enemies may take up to 4 shots before dying) when compared to Kart's or Jad's cartridges.

Upon finding a machine gun powerup, she pulls out an MP5 Submachine Gun (she must really like using 9mm ammunition since the Beretta M92F and MP5 both use it).

Her stamina is also the weakest out of the three and she can easily be stopped after taking only 2 bullet hits. When in Close Quarters Combat (CQC - Hand to hand), she raises her gun with both hands and smashes her enemy in the head with the butt of the gun.

---------------------------------------------------------

"Jad The Taff" (the big, muscular, armored, 'Terminator' like guy)

Jad is an intimidating man who carries a "Dessert Eagle" (Desert Eagle in real life) which is probably chambered to fire the super-powerful 50 A.E. cartridges (In real life, these cartridges cost nearly $1.00 each, depending on where you buy them).

His handgun firing technique is the slowest out of the three characters, but compensates in the lack of speed by having the most powerful sidearm cartridge. Jad's sidearm shots can easily down most enemies with 1 or 2 shots maximum, save for boss type characters.

Although Jad is the slowest runner of the three, he is the only one that has the ability to kill enemies by 'ramming' into them as he's running (His animation doesn't change for ramming an enemy; He simply 'tramples/runs over' them. LITERALLY). The 2 other characters have to either perform a 'jump attack' or use their CQC skill to dispatch an enemy.

His secondary weapon is a 'Sensor Bomb' which when deployed, can take up to 7 seconds to detonate by itself. If enemies come within the close vicinity of the Sensor Bomb, it will explode (kind of like a claymore mine).

When Jad finds a Machine Gun powerup, he brings out a menacing M60 Heavy Machine Gun.

Jad's CQC skill is a simple, yet highly effective one-handed overhead smash to the enemy's head.

What he lacks in speed, he makes up for in power, just like his weaponry; He can take about 4-5 shots before dying.

One of the cool bonuses in the game is that you get to unlock the original Elevator Action arcade game once you've completed the regular game (even if you get the 'bad' ending).

If you can find this title, it's definitely worth picking up.

Hey Mog_The_Destroyer.

It's funny that you mentioned Network Video in Burlingame, because that's where I bought some of the rarer titles! ;)

They have an 'okay' collection now, but the guys who run that shop (except for Ramon, who's pretty cool and has been there a long time) don't really strike me as knowledgeable or even helpful. They give me this vibe of strictly wanting my money as opposed to giving me what I want to buy. Plus, their prices went up and aren't as reasonable as they used to be, back when the original owner was still running the place.

I remember when Natty and her sister Aruna used to run that place. Those were the days when Saturn/PS1 import collecting were at their best. Natty also had the best prices and even played a lot of the games that came out.

Without her recommendations, I probably wouldn't have bought some of the quality titles like "Radiant Silvergun", "Soukyogurentai", "Hyper Duel" (my personal favorite!), "Dungeons & Dragons Collection", "Macross: Do You Remember Love?", "Skull Fang", "Kyukyoku Tiger II Plus" and "G-Vector".

I bought so many import games from her when she ran that shop. It was too damned bad for us gamers/collectors to accept the fact that she no longer wanted to own/run a Video Game store. She ended up selling her entire store to these guys who for some reason, just don't seem as friendly or as enthusiastic as she was. I just hope she's happy back in her home country, India.

Those are some good recommendations there, Steven. I'll be sure to check the info on some of those titles.

I usually like all genres, except sports games (unless they involve some sort of 'futuristic' storyline) but I really like SHMUPS and action/adventure/platformer games.

I couldn't stomach Columns, not matter how many times I've tried to play it and I already have Saturn Bomberman, which is a domestic US release. As for Metal Slug, I'm thinking about it, but I want to be sure my Saturn will work correctly without the 4mb RAM cart.

What I really want is to track down a copy of Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 II, King's Race, Gunbird and Wolf Fang.

I'm just not too thrilled at possibly paying up to $70+ for some of those titles.

King's Race -- I assume you mean Kingdom Grandprix? Here are the price averages for used copies to the best of my knowledge...

Hmm, that's just a very nice seller. I shop on eBay mostly. Sure there are other mediums to shop but eBay is where I gather all my "average prices", and Strikers and KG never go for that low on eBay, or anywhere else I've seen.

But once in a blue moon you have friendly sellers selling off stuff for uber cheap. I'd call that an isolated incident since those games don't go for that low on average. (I was listing average prices but of course you can get better price)

Unfortunately, I usually try to stay away from text heavy import games, even if they have walkthroughs for them. I don't believe in using a 'strategy guide', 'walkthrough' or even 'cheats' for a game until I've beaten the game myself. That way, I'm experiencing the game the way it was meant to be experienced.

It's a damned shame that the game you mentioned didn't make it stateside. It could have turned the tide for the Saturn.

Hey if you just have the official 4mb RAM cart then it won't work.

You will need either the "1mb RAM cart" or, a converter like the 4in1 action replay.

SNK pretty much had there games made to 'use the "1mb RAM cart" on the Saturn.

Expect for KOF 95 wich use a property RAM cart.

I have got the official 4mb ram cart and even though metal slug does work with it, i often get heaps of sprite table corruption.

I have got my ss imprt collection sitting right next to me now. (i am gettong ready to move house) and the game that i play the most is probably Xmen vs Street Fighter. I have also got Marvel vs Street Fighter, but i dont play it that much.

Some of the ram fighter games are pretty good. You should have a look at some of them. Real Bout Fatal Fury Special is worth the money as too is Samurai Showdown III and IV.

Heh yep. The single life is not ALL bad. Though my previous girlfriend likes video games. But she wasn't much of a Saturn supporter. She often said "why do you keep buying games for a dead system?" She's into DDR, Time Crisis and the odd puzzle game here and there (mainly Puzzle Fighter).

But yeah, I guess I got lucky, most girls don't even play ANY video games, let alone tolerate them. Though I must admit, it was funny the day my ex pulled open my drawer and saw all the Saturn imports inside... she about dropped her jaw I "wasted" so much time and money on these games, heh....

Much much better than RS IMO, though many people claim otherwise.

I depends on whether one prefers pure shooters.

SNK pretty much had there games made to 'use the "1mb RAM cart" on the Saturn.

Real Bout Fatal Fury Special uses the 4MB cart to good effect...... but for the most part, yeah. RBFF (sans special) needs the 1MB to avoid the corruption BTW.

yep... sadly I ran out of space and till I find some more space it will have to wait...

I'm trying to convince myself to limit mine to about 80 per system. With some systems it obviously won't be any problem, especially the ones with less games (PCFX for instance). My import Saturn collection ballooned awfully quick in the last couple years. And my PCE collection did that even faster. It can be easy to lose it and buy way more than you have time to play unfortunately.

I don't have many large items, but I don't have much space either. I probably wouldn't have as many games as I do if I was avoiding heavy Japanese text.

Don't you just hate it when the female gamers are hogging up the systems by playing DDR or some puzzle game?

LOL

Personally, I loathe DDR and any other derivatives of it. As for other stuff, I'd probably be able to stomach Karaoke Revolution, but that's more of a 'party' game and is not too fun to play solo.

But Silent Scope Complete w/ The Pelican Sniper Rifle.... that's more to my tastes.

Damn. You ran out of room. Isn't that funny? It's like, you're collecting all these games/systems/peripherals but then, you're rapidly running out of space at the same time? That's what happened to me and my action figure collecting.

To this day, I still have about 800+ unopened action figures, which are sitting packed away in moving boxes, waiting for the day to be called upon and ultimately be put up for sale. *sighs* The sad part is that a lot of them are still only worth what I paid for them. The majority of them are also not in 'demand' due to the franchises (X-Men, Spawn, Marvel Super Heroes) having lost a bit of steam or being overshadowed by the current action figure lines. (I mean, have you seen the "Marvel Legends" and "Marvel Select" action figures? NICE)

Nice collection.

As far as recommendations, it's already come up, butI can't recommend Battle Garegga enough.

Thanks, man.

Yeah, Battle Garegga is definitely on my top 'must have' list, but since it's so expensive, I'm going to have to hold off on it, at least for now.

RS.... I really like that game, but I can definitely say it's not the 'best shooter in the universe' like some people claim. Then again, we all have are personal favorites and are allowed to agree to disagree.

.
I for got you can use the 4MB Ram with that game.

Then agian i've just use a "4in1 action replay" to play any ram cart game.

I'm not sure if RBFF even use the full 4megs or just the 1meg.

It's kind of a shame SNK didn't use the 4MB in frist place.

Still i guess since the 4MB was Capcom idea. SNK probably didn't want use it becuse of there pride, afther all they were bitter rival's back then.

GunPanther, you have several games there that I wish I had, so I wouldn't say that your collection is anything to be ashamed of at all! But I know what you mean about feeling like it's too small. I feel the same way about mine. There's still so many games that I want to get that I don't have yet, many of which I may never be able to find in the condition that I want them in (factory sealed) these days, or if I am lucky enough to find them that way now, I won't be able to afford them! And what's worse, most of the ones still remaining on my wishlist are ones that will cost me triple digits, if I can find them, so I've gotten to the point where almost everything that I still want is gonna cost me at least $100 apiece, and many will be multiples of $100 going all the way up to $1000! Nothing hurts me much worse than finding a factory sealed copy of a Saturn import on my wishlist on ebay, and having to let it go to someone else, because I still can't afford to buy it yet! The expensive ones just never seem to show up until I'm completely broke!

Anyhow, here's what I suggest for you:

Shmups:

Assault Suit Leynos 2 (pretty cheap, it goes for less than $50 new)
Battle Garegga (watch the price on this one, I paid $75 for it new)
Blast Wind (I got it for only $30 new years ago, but it's $60 used now)
Guardian Force (watch the price on this one too, I only paid $50 new)
Gun Frontier (pretty expensive, I paid $120 for a new one recently)
Kingdom Grand Prix (I paid $65 for a new one here on the DP boards)
Sol Divide (This one has been going up, I paid $80 for it new years ago)
Sonic Wings Special (I paid $70 new years ago, roughly the used price now)
Strikers 1945 I & II (about the same used as they were new years ago, $70)
Thunderforce V (the special pack was $75 new years ago, used price now)

Racers:

Taito Chase HQ Plus SCI (I paid $65 new, but it's only about half that used)
GT24 (dirt cheap and not too bad, only about $20 or so for a new copy)
Power Drift (I paid $60 for a new one, but some sell it for that much used)
Street Racer Extra (very cheap, very good, I only paid $10 for a new copy)
Vatlva (very cheap, very good, I only paid $10 for a new copy of it too)

I'd recommend more racers, but I haven't tried any others yet personally that I would recommend to you. I have Gunbluster XTO and Tactics Formula also, but those two are both niche titles which you may or may not enjoy, so I'd advise that you try them first. They're definitely not for everybody.

Pinballs:

Necronomicon (even if you hate pinball, give this one a try! I paid $50 new)
Pinball Graffiti (if you like pinball, get this one too! I paid less than $20 new)
Fantastic Pinball (get this one if you like cute-ime! It varies, $30 - $60 new)

Necronomicon is the sequel to Last Gladiators, and it shits all over it! Both games rule as far as digital pinballs go, but this one is the king of them all. Pinball Graffiti is more of a realistic pinball simulation, but it has a really cool story mode that you may like. Travel from city to city, win money, buy stuff. Fantastic Pinball is kinda more like a pachinko game, but if you like stuff that's really oddball and way out there like Keio or Parodius, then you'll love this too.

That's about all the games that I can comment on personally for now, so how is G-Vector? I've heard that it's alot like Panzer Dragoon, but I can't find very much information about it, and even fewer screenshots of it. I've also heard that Stellar Assault is good too, but it goes for about $150 used now! I'd love to try both of them out, but they're very hard to find used, much less new. So my chances of ever owning them are very slim, unless I break my rules and stop being so anal about only allowing myself to buy factory sealed games, and I don't see that happening anytime real soon either!

Anyway, good luck to you! I'm about to celebrate the arrival of my 50th Saturn import game soon, and I only had 5 Saturn imports at this time last year, so you can do it if you set your mind to it and keep an eye out for bargains. I mostly just snatched up whatever looked cool that was cheap, but I have to admit I broke the bank to get stuff that I really wanted alot too. Not counting Hyper Duel though, I rarely paid much more than $100 for any of the Saturn imports that I own, so you can still get alot of great games dirt cheap even now. You just have to keep your eyes out for them. I've bought alot on ebay, but I've bought alot from online import shops too. So if I can find great deals on new games, used games should be even cheaper.

P.S.: Why hasn't this whole thread been moved over to Import Mania yet?

G-Vector is very expensive pile of sh*t...
I have factory sealed one and after playing mate's one I'm keeping mine factory sealed... :p

only triple digit titles I don't have are FF and Tomahou...
I will pick them up eventually but I'm in no hurry to pick them up - I played both using mate's copies and although nice wasn't too impressed tell you the truth...

I'm still dreaming I may stumble across either of them at good price...
I once picked up factory sealed PC Engine kazakiri & Alundra for mere $70 together when I was in Japan... :D

Thanks for the recommendations man. :)

G-Vector (at least to me) plays like a Space Harrier/After Burner/Night Striker styled shooter with elements similar (stolen?) from "Layer Section/Galactic Attack". Even the ship is red! I personally haven't played too much of the game because I got a bit of vertigo sickness from it, which is very rare since I don't usually get vertigo sickness from 99% of the games I play.

Pinball games seem cool, but I have yet to play one that really ate up my time like Pokemon Pinball for the GBC. I guess the idea of collecting Pokemon (at least back in 1999) really appealed to me.

BTW, I recently watched a cool 1 hour video from Retrocore, which featured Saturn SHMUP games. I immediately took a liking to "Bulk Slash" because it looks like it plays very similar to the Sega CD classic "Soul Star" or the older XBox game "Gun Metal". Then again, I've always been a sucker for giant, transforming robots. ;)

The other games featured caught my attention but the best part of the video itself was the narrator's comments regarding certain games.

One particular comment made me laugh for a good minute:

On "Space Harrier" (Sega Ages Compilation) -

Narrator says something to the effect of....

".... Someone once said to me that this really can't be considered a 'Shooter', and I said 'So what the hell is it then?' " LOL

LOL !!! LOL !!! LOL

Bulk Slash is one of the many games on my wishlist too, and so is Virtual On. (I never got around to buying the domestic one, but the import looks cool.) I'd also like to get Gun Griffon 2, I still haven't gotten that one yet either. I should've bought it new when I had the chance to last year, but for some reason I thought that the US version was both of the imports combined into one, so I passed it up like an idiot. Now I haven't been able to find a new copy of it ever since then, but hopefully it'll turn up somewhere this year. That's my biggest problem, I never wanna buy any game that isn't sealed.

EDIT: COOL! I just checked Ebay for Gun Griffon 2 again, and there was a new one for only $10 + $5 shipping! So I just bought it. I can't wait! Now if only I could afford to get that new Bulk Slash that I want... I am getting Hyper Reverthion and Steeldom soon though. I have them on hold now.

only JPN GunGriffon 1 has that cool intro FMV that uses the VCD card...

HMM... I may have to get the import version of the first game as well then! Thanks for the info, DJ! It's alot easier to find that one new than the sequel is! I can't believe that I just got GG2 for only $15 shipped though! I've seen it for as much as $30 + shipping used! Talk about a great deal! Thanks for reminding me to search for GG2 again, GunPanther! I'll post a review soon! I'm pretty into giant mech/robot games myself, but I heard that GG2 is great!

GG2 box set w/ link cable cost bit more...
are you sure you were looking at the box set price rather than std game?

i always thought GG2 isn't such high demand title and usually goes for $15-19 on eBay 2003-2004? Not sure since I haven't followed eBay for a year now...

Iron Draggon
04-04-2005, 02:05 PM
Nope, I haven't even seen a copy of the box set yet. GG2 tends to go for a little more than GG1, but $30 is the highest asking price that I've seen on it. You're right, usually it's only $15 - $20 for a used copy, but that still makes $15 shipped for a new one a great deal on it. The demand for it seems to have gone up somewhat, since it came out late in the Saturn's life (1998) and it was never released in the US, like the first one was. From what I've read about it, the GG games are considered to be the best 3D mech games ever made for the Saturn, and GG2 is considered to be superior to GG2. It's often compared very favorably to the Armored Core series on the PS, even though it isn't considered to be quite as good as that series is. So it seems to be getting more popular because it's the closest that you can get to AC on the Saturn. I don't have any AC games, but I have played them before and they are very good for the 32BIT era. In fact, I need to track down all the PS1 games in the series. I wouldn't mind having the PS2 ones either, except I still don't have a PS2 yet, so no use in worrying about those yet.

Anyhow, I just put Bulk Slash on hold. Only $100 shipped for a new/sealed copy of the original release, I think that's a pretty good deal for that too. Now I just have to worry about coming up with the money for it, and how to remove the manual from the case without damaging it, if it's stuck to it like I've heard that most of the remaining sealed copies of the original release are. If anyone knows about some trick to doing this, please let me know! I've heard nothing but good things about BS, and I've been wanting to get it for quite a while, but the sticky manual issue is a very big concern for me if/when I open it to play it. I'm hoping that it's the sort of glossy cover that I think it is, I've encountered other games like that before, and it's not a big deal. As long as you peel it away carefully, it comes right off without any damage, except the coating may be dull wherever it was stuck to the case, because it actually leaves a layer of the coating on the case. If that's all that it does, it would still suck, but it wouldn't suck as bad as it would if any of the ink or the paper of the manual came off on the case. I don't want that to happen to it, so if it may do that I may have to just leave it in the case.

Now, about Virtual On, are there any differences between the US version and the import version? I know that there's a regular version and a netlink version for both regions, but other than that, are there any differences like you mentioned for Gun Griffon? I still haven't decided which version I want.

I'd like to get Cyberbots too, but I know that it's a different type of robot fighting game. It's just another 2D Capcom fighter, but with a giant robot theme, right? And the RAM cart is optional, so you don't need it to play it? I know I'm gonna end up getting it pretty soon, but I may wait until I have a 4 in 1, so I can play it with all the extra animations. Is it really bad without the RAM cart? If I can get a good deal on a new one, I'll probably jump on it.

wow.... that's a lot of questions mate. :D

never been a fan of AC series I wasn't keen on GG though I have to say it's not too shabby for what it is...
i myself didn't get PS2 till last year when I had chance to pick up PS2 Test unit - so now I can play all my PS2 Gundam titles... :p

About you BS remark makes me to check out my copy again.
I don't normally take the manual out of jewel case - I never bothered to read any manual. period...

On VO, the netlink versions were released both in JP and US and from what I know they require the NetLink/X-Band modem module in order to run. I have all four version collected over the years although I usually play DC VOOT... :D

And Cyberbots I have both std release and 1st print LE box set although it's been years since I played it...
I'm not a huge fan of Vs fighting but I prefer big mecha going at each other than human beating each other... just personal preferences...

Few games my ass! My entire Saturn colection with both domestic and import is at best one third of what you have pictured. Sad part, I'm not even sure as to how well the quality of much of them are as I cant play any of them right now. Off the top of my head my colection is only around 15 games tops. Best things that come to mind in it would be House of the Dead, X-men vs Street Fighter, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms p4, and Virtua On. Having Raident Silvergun, D&D colection, and a few of the other titles you have listed are enough to make it a better start then anything I could think of. You already have most of the expensive titles that I'm aware of. Most of what I see missing from your colection would be cheap and easy to get after some hard looking. I look at your colection and drool. Please, I beg, for future refrence never refer to them as crap. It's just to beautiful a colection to be called such.

when I started off years ago - more than a decade in fact - I never imagined one day I would be with huge number of titles...
Saturn was and is still number one console in my heart closely followed by Dreamcast. I do have other consoles to play titles I wanted over the years but Saturn and DC are the true favourite of mine...

when I see the picture of people with dedicated game room I'm jealous of them. I wish I have a spare room at the house to use as dedicated game room but alas big house and living near CBD doesn't always go hand in hand... if I want bigger house I will be looking at 2-2.5M - the kind of money I simply don't have nor afford... besides I really have no plan to move at this time...

being a collector and family man isn't easy thing to manage...
not only the cost involves to source titles but you have to worry about the space issue...
I have most of my bulkier items packed and stored and even many of less played titles all stored away to save the space and I'm constantly out of space when I get new items... not to mention getting earful of lecture from missus... :(

you guys who is single count yourselves lucky and enjoy the collecting but be warned when you get married it won't be easy thing o continue and you may even have to drop it completely...

just my rambling...
cheers

Yeah, I envy all the people with game rooms and wall-to-wall floor-to-ceiling shelving too. All my games are stacked in cardboard boxes that aren't exactly the easiest to get to when I wanna play a game. I need to get another CD rack for all my CD games too. Mine holds 500 CD's, and yet every time I get a new CD game I have to decide what will leave the rack to go into a box or just put the new game into a box. But worse still, I have no place to put a new CD rack. So I really need to have wall-to-wall floor-to-celing shelving too, but that wouldn't work in my room anyway. I have no place for that either. I'd have to move into a new house to have a nice game room, or we'd just have to add a room onto our existing house, but that'll never happen either.

But, nobody is gonna tell me what I can or can't collect, or they're gonna find themselves written out of my life. My games are my passion, so if they can't handle it, they can go somewhere else. I've been collecting for far too long now to ever stop until I want to stop, and I still don't want to stop yet. But then my collection isn't so large that it has to reside anywhere outside of my room yet either, and hopefully it will never get that large, that would be too much. So I guess in that sense it helps alot that the only system I kept all the boxes for is the Genesis. It really sucks that I don't have all the boxes for everything else, but that's why space still isn't a big problem in my room. If I had kept all the boxes for everything, then it would be a serious problem.

As for my import collection, I really never expected that I would ever have as many as I do now either. But it's all the Saturn imports that are changing all that for me now. I only have a couple of MegaDrive imports, a couple of SFC imports, a couple of Dreamcast imports, and one PlayStation import, other than all my Saturn imports, and I only had a half dozen Saturn imports about a year ago. Then I decided that I wanted to get a few more Saturn imports, and now I just can't stop buying them. I'm hopelessly addicted to collecting them! But everybody knows the Saturn is an import system anyway, so it's cool to finally be getting all the stuff that I wished I could afford back in the day! I have way more stuff now than I could ever have gotten back then.

But... Still no Radiant Silvergun, or D&D Collection, or Cyberbots, or most of the really expensive imports yet, so I have to agree with all the others here, you're off to a really great start with your collection for sure, Gun Panther! It's all the expensive titles that are breaking my bank now, but you already have most of those tackled, so you should be able to build it up with the less expensive titles very quickly, like I've been doing for almost a year now. It's amazing how quickly the numbers can climb if you just stick with what you can get cheaply, and shop around for the best deals on whatever you get. I'm living proof of that. I only massively overpaid a couple of times, and I only made one massively expensive purchase so far, so I think I'm doing very well.

Or tr to get hold of a 2nd Saturn to mod instead 8shrug*

Nice collection thus far though!
