still learning..

ok I have an odyssey2 eprom 2732 with a game on it, read it in through my willem and saved it as a bin file fully expecting it to work on 02em..
it didnt, is there anything I need to do to the file before it will work on o2em ?

and vice verse..

if I burn a bin (of similar capacity) file onto a similar eprom should it not then plug into the cart I pulled the old eprom off and work ?

maybe Im oversimplifying

Not that im aware of its just the program that comes with these willem programmers. called blah blah 097j or something like that.

I thought maybe I needed to add a header for o2em, but that just seemed silly.

Just brainstorming here...

Has this EPROM been released yet? I ask this because, if it has, you could obtain the released ROM file and compare the differences between it and yours.

If ROM files that successfully run in emulators are non-EPROM sized (like 2178B instead of 2048B), that's a good sign they have some kind of header.

Have you examined the .bin to see if you've got a good file or not? (no repeating, or excessive/patterned 00/FF)

If you're using the Willem software, it's definately not adding any sort of extra header/footer stuff... you should try downloading the released ROM of the game if it's available, and compare it in some program like Hex Workshop. I'm not familiar with o2 emulation, so I'm not sure whether the ROMs are supposed to have any extra stuff in them to run in emus, but like FABombjoy said, check the file sizes, they should be exactly the same size.
