OK, my story so far...I'm the new guy around here, currently getting into collecting...

I put a post on another message board with some games and DVD"s I had for trade. A guy contacted me with some Saturn games, and he wanted my Animal Crossing. So I looked at his list and picked out 4 games he was offering...

CLockwork Knight 2
Sonic 3-D Blast
Sega Saturn 3-pack of games
and this one game I heard about that was supposed to be an amazing RPG...Panzer Dragoon Saga.

He agrees to the trade, we make the trade, all is well, and then I'm doing some searching on eBay and come across a Panzer Dragoon Saga auction...

I do not know the answer to this question.

Is there a Panzer dragoon Saga sampler? If not, you are golden, and kudos to you!

It's real...I'm cradling it in my hands right now...in perfect condition, and even has the pack-in catalog! I'm just excited because I have a story to tell! :D

what it goes for and what it really is worth are two separate things. Many people who don't collect games see the value as, "I got this game new for $49.99, finished it 4 years ago and it has been collecting dust.. wish i could trade it for something i need without costing me any money."

as long as you are both happy then no foul. As for me, the most I've personally paid for a game-any game- was Zelda:OOT the day it came out.. think it was 69.99? And I have a lot of games.. including PDS, which is a great RPG.. Except for being such a short RPG for 4 CD's.

in a word: "No!"

like Raedon said, You may have saved this Guy from Looking at
ANOTHER Dust-Collector ... a fate WORSE than ..>:(
i know that would make me happy as HELL ...

You Are Happy, 'If he's Happy,"a Good trade", i'd Say!
Clockwork Night was a: "pretty Neat Game", my memory tells me.
i would much rather trade with a fellow Gamer,
than Some Collector, just Going after The Money Box,
"Good Going to You man!"

Panzer Dragoon Saga came out at $70.00. I paid $70 + tax for it new when it came out, and was lucky to find it at all.

To some people old games are just old crap like baskets and thimbles and "collectable" spoons are to me. I would be happy to give someone a very rare "collectable" spoon in return for something that I actually wanted. Monetary worth and personal worth are 2 different things all together. Sounds like everyone is on the same page with this whole value thing.

And there are some collectors who would be happy to trade an extra panzer dragoon saga for a new game they wanted even if they know what it goes for on ebay.

The day all collectors go on Ebay prices Ill give this hobby the finger.

Ive sold things for ridiculous amounts of profit on ebay when I needed the money.

Ive also sold or traded things at way below ebay prices to people on this board. If I didnt pay much for it and im not currently starving I can be a nice guy.

And there are others like that.

Yeah, what everyone else said.

The only time I would feel guilty in a trade like that is if I went into it knowing the value of what I was getting was far more than what I was giving and I was only getting said item because it was going to be sold. Actually, I've never done this, so I guess this is theoretical.

You didn't know how much PDS was worth and judging from your post you're going to give it a good home, not scalp it on eBay. I'd say sleep easy with a clear conscious and enjoy them game. I hate 99% of RPGs, but I like PDS.

Besides, when you're starting out and learning the ropes, you are much more likely to have trades go against you than for you. It's always great to hear a new collector with a story like this rather than "I traded Panzer Dragoon Saga for Virtua Fighter 2, was that a good deal?"

And always remeber to return the favor in the future when you can. Good trade karma always comes back to you. :)

What Sothy said, 110%.

If more people would adopt this mentality,(Most people on this board already have) Things would be a lot easier.

I don't feel bad getting a good price off a game I bought for cheap on E-bay, or helping a fellow collector pick up an item.

Items are up on E-bay for bidding. I don't click on the confirm bid button for anyone, they do it on their own. And, as long as you and the other party involved are happy,(In a trade or sale) I see no problem.

man, i would love that game. my friend told me about his other friend that was selling a sega saturn, with about 30 games for like 50 bucks. It ended up that is was just a sega genesis, and he wanted 75 bucks!!!

i only paid $50.00 when panzer dragon saga first came out.To this day,i still think of how lucky i was to buy the game and know a couple of years later it would become the most highest paid game on ebay.
