Anyone own one of these?
I recently played throuhg Mega Man Battle Network for GBA and enjoyed the game alot. Searched on Ebay and I found this thing

Is it anything to have or is it really boring? I read that you can link with other PET, but can you also use it without linking?
Please share your experience with this PET thingie.

yeah I have one, someone at work gave it to me for free b/c they know I'm a game freak, and Megaman freak to boot. But the toy is not all that much fun. I suppoise you need to have a few friends who have one to get some battles going and what not. Yes you can use it by itself, but its nothing to scream about.

Anyone want mine? It's complete with everything that came in the package (minus the package) - $2 bucks to my paypal account for shipping and the sucker is yours!

I bought one a few weeks ago. There's not a truckload of variety in playing in. Basically, you shake(literally) the PET until an enemy appears, then you start to battle going by turns, when it's your turn you have a few seconds to insert an ability chip and/or an attack chip, you then see the attack field which is like a tic-tac-toe board with a cursor(your attack range) and a blip, representing the enemy. If you can get the cursor onto the enemy, you do damage to it. Rinse and repeat. You can only use each chip once per fight, and no program advances, styles, etc. either. You gain EXP as you win battles, and are occasionally invited to Tourneys against stronger enemies(this is essentially the goal of the PET, to beat every tourney).

From my experience, I had minimal fun with trying to collect all the chips and seeing what they did. After awhile though, the effect did seem to wear off, and the tedium came into effect. It definitly does not compare at all, to the PETs in the games. If you know anyone with one, or if you bought two PETs for multiplayer play, I could definitly see it being very fun and strategical. Mattel has the new Advanced PET 2 coming out this year, or you could import the even better Progress PET, which is supposed to emulate the GBA games very well. Go to http://www.pet-world.de.vu/. They have a ton more info on all the PETs and they have a nice forum to ask questions about the PET.

My brother actually bought this peice of junk for 30 bucks. He's not very wise at all when he comes to making purchases. Anyway, I've used it a lot more than he has, and this thing is amazingly boring. The control is terrible, and a little on the hard side. Also, when MegaMan loses a fight, you must shake the PET for about 10 minutes straight for him to revive. Not worth the soar arm.

I was wanting one, but the more I hear about the "Advanced" PET, the less I want one.
