Went to the thrift stores with my daughters on Friday, ostensibly looking for a part for my oldest’s invention project for school. Along the way :D, we hit a few game stores as well, and I just happened to find the following:

- Boxed Channel F system complete with manual and catalog, plus 9 complete games $9.99
- 4 complete NES games (have ‘em all loose, need the boxes and books) .99 each
- 2600 Omega Race (w/booster grip) & Thunderground .35 each (1/2 price on pink tags!)
- Saturn Clockwork Knight 2 $3.99, plus some free GB & GG plastic cases
- PSX Long Box College Slam $1.99 & Theme Park $9.99, plus 2 Spawn figures on sale for $4 each at Funco.
- Local Game Store having a sale…PSX Long Box X-COM UFO Defense and "D" $9 each, SegaCD Popful Mail, Vay & Fatal Fury Special $6 each (all 5 complete and in good shape)
Half a dozen thrifts, 4 used game stores, and about $100 later (we managed to find some other toys and goodies as well ;)) we had had a pretty good day. Even found the part we needed for my daughter’s automatic fish feeder invention; turned out to be a circular wooden egg dish with 12 evenly spaced depressions around the edge…life is good, wife is unaware!
If this is what after-Christmas specials are like, I’ll be making this an annual trip!
