Hey Ackman,

Don't know how good this game is, but I picked up Gekido for PS1 the other day. Haven't gotten the chance to check it out yet, though. Maybe do a bit of research on this one and check out some reviews.

On the other hand, I got it for $1.99 at Gamestop ... so that could speak volumes right there. But hey, I love beat 'em ups, so even if it's complete crap, it was only 2 bucks.

Unfortunately I don't know of many other beat 'em ups for the PS1, which is a shame.

Check out Jackie Chan Stuntmaster. Beat up baddies with a big fish and participate in other assorted foolishness. Fun!

No, I did, too, but he said "besides fighting force 1/2". However, I'm not sure if it was just that my tastes weren't as refined a handful of years back.

Looking at the reviews now, they look pretty grim.

damn that edios they couldn't be happy with making 1 or 2 horrible brawlers they had to make awful hybrid brawlers like:

Rise to Honor (PS2) looks pretty good. There were also the 4 different TMNT games that have been released, as of late. I wouldn't recommend TMNT:Battle Nexus unless you're interested in the unlockable TMNT Arcade game. Also, I hear Batman:Rise of Sin Tzu is decent.

I really dug Rising Zan: The Samurai Gunman and I'm a couple of hours into Soul of the Samurai, which I'm enjoying as well. If you're into 3d, I'd reccomend those.

Hey, Omikron was a good game. The Dreamcast port wasn't done very well, but it was a good game nonetheless, and ahead of its time. I don't think it was developed by Eidos originally, anyway.

Shooting and adventure aspect was okay but the fighting meh, really awful, they should rather have left it out, Oni did a much better job.

I was playing Tekken 3 on the weekend and they have a beat-'em-up mode that's reminiscent of Final Fight.
