I FINALLY managed to get my hands on a PAL copy. I managed to get some overtime in Schuh over easter and finally decided to buy SOR 3 for £36 on eBay. I KNOW, I KNOW, a lot of dosh but ive spent more on less.
£45 on a 2 track Smashing Pumpkins - Rocket CD single.
But yeah i sold my SOR3 back in 1995 along with a megadrive when i was just starting High School (third year of university now btw) and havent played SOR3 since 1995!!!!!
I forgot how hard the bloody game is. I can walk through SOR2 with ease even on Hardest (lets face it, Mania is too INSANE a difficulty!) but SOR3 is just too hard. Im totally loving it though.
With that, Story of Thor and Phantasy Star IV my PAL Megadrive collection is making me happy just now.
Now where oh where can i find Punisher or Mega Man The Wily Wars on PAL!

Sweet. A bit much, but i love that song.

Which is why i enjoy "Bare Knuckle 3" that much more.
And that Level 4 3-way Boss, Yamato...he's a push over on any difficulty.

Yeah i died at the start of Level 4. I like how the story actually moves between the levels unlike the past two games.
We'll see how i do.

There is actually more story in BK3 than there is in SOR3.
More bombs go off (during the between level intermissions) and its shown that a General is kidnapped instead of the mayor.

The American version of this game makes me weep. It's been bowdlerized, I tell ya, BOWDLERIZED! Axel and Blaze's colors being changed for the worse are only the beginnings. Almost every enemy's names have been altered, they completely cut out Ash (though I could see why), the story was better explained in the Japanese version, Skate lost quite a bit of his attitude, and worst of all... I am used to some games having the difficulty change rather drastically in the American version, but Normal might as well be freaking Hard mode in SoR3, because I still haven't beat it!
Augh... Sega of America really dropped the bomb on this one. I thought it had a lot of potential, and I'm probably only one of the few people who likes the music, but they put the game in a blender and served it up over in America as a smoothie of inadequacy.
ADD: Key-rhyste. People say that the Adventures of Batman and Robin for the Genesis is a freaking frustrating game. I beat that one. I did not beat Streets of Rage 3. :eek 2:

Agreed. Sega just seemed to be trying to tank Bare Knuckles 3. But then again, weren't they doing that to everything?

Actually, if you have a game genie you can fight as Ash in SOR3.
Play as Ash - BAWA-AAA0
Ash along with Shiva made the game too damn easy...even with the cranked up difficulty.

I like some of the music in the game, its not nearly as memorable as the other two games...but Part 3 gets major point for having much better control that SOR1.
