Thinking about picking up Firefighter F.D. 18 tomorrow for 39.99, but I dunno if it's worth it. Trying to gauge it's possible rarity and/or enjoyment if I open it.

First off I wen't to Toys R' Us and finally bought Super Monkey Ball 1 & 2 for $30 (the bundle deal)
Next I wen't to EB and got:
The Combatribes (SNES $2.99, this game f'in rocks, long live Technos!!!)
Final Fight 2 (SNES, $2.99)
Last stop before heading home was Microplay. I got the following:

That's is the crustiest SNES I've ever seen :eek 2:
Yeah to be honest, this SNES was a house fire survivor, I asked the gentlemen what happened, and he told me back in 1993 his sister's house burnt down and her son grabbed the Super NES.
I've tried to clean it for about 2 hours almost. It's looks terrible, but runs normally.
As for Xexyz, I do a run to the flea markets once every month. I always find something interesting now and again.
The Capcom stick for SNES is pretty solid, I played Killer Instinct with it for a little bit, pretty good responsive controls.

Never would have paid the full price for this ($249.99), but at under $100, I figured it would make a nice addition to my collection. It's pretty fun to immerse yourself in, too, and I love the expression it put on my kids' faces when I put it together and revealed it to them. :)

I must say this is most impressive. I would love to get a nice chunk of a system completed that way. The games look really nice too for rental games...are they sunfaded or have lots of stickers or anything?
jeffg
04-03-2005, 07:37 AM
this was a small mom and pop place and he had no stickers on the boxes.
Some of the boxes had the plastic on them still and he wrote the # on it.
Some boxes have a # in sharpie on the front and then on the cartridge itself.
Usually on the cart it is on the side so i think I can use goo gone and get rid
of it.
Some of the good ones are: Clay Fighter Sculptor's cut, Bust A Move 99,
all the disney games, Smash Brothers, Zelda Majora's Mask, Gauntlet Legends,
Mario 64, and some others. of the 158 of them I checked on the DP Guide and about 70 of them are $10 and up. Total of 45 sport games though
but for $150 for them all 113 non-sport/wrestling and 45 sports/wrestling
games is pretty good.
I missed out on this guys SNES, Genesis, and DC games. He sold them all a couple months ago. He had about 200 SNES, 200 Genesis, and 50 DC games
Also only 15 duplicates.
I am going to sell off the duplicates and also all the gory "M' rated games.
I am not much for them. I posted a lot of 12 of them on the buy/sell board
for $25 plus shipping. Someone take them off my hands.

About three years ago, I would've killed for that Interton VC4000 setup. I was on a huge kick for systems like that (Arcadia and otherwise similar), but after piling up several foreign machines that I couldn't actually play, I realized it was time to move on. Darn.

Today was "Sega Happy Meal crap day" for me, because that's what I found.
Here's what I got for $1.47 total at Goodwill:
2 Sega McDonald's handhelds
-Michael Vick Football
-A Sonic handheld game from the 2003 Happy Meal promotion. It's the one where Sonic has to jump from platform to platform.
Another happy meal toy from 1994 that is a pink TV with a little model 2 Genesis and 3-button controller on top of the TV. It has wheels on the bottom and if you roll it you can see Sonic and Tails running from Dr. Robotnik in the TV. Pretty cool.
Ironically enough, I went to Goodwill right after having lunch at McDonald's. LOL
