This is kinda getting out of hand. Is there any official confromation that only 3500-3600 copies were printed? I am pretty sure the first shipment was that small, with more to come.

Man, thats is pretty ridiculous.

Anyway, that was just the initial shipment which EBgames had an exclusive on. From what I heard more are on the way to EB and other retailers as soon as this month.

is it confirmed that more are on the way or is it still a rumor? I grabbed one from EB today, just because of the high dollar it's been hitting, wondering if I should part with it now and get another later.

I think it's just a rumor because I haven't heard anything concrete about a second shipment...just see a "backordered" listing on EB.com. I don't know if I believe that TRU story either since about a dozen other retailers had this game listed on their sites a couple weeks ago but none received it.

It's pretty funny that the seller of that auction decided to put that question up under his auction listing. Even if there isn't going to be more copies delivered April 15th, I'm sure there will be some bid retractions because of it.

FWIW there were three brand new copies of this game at my local EB yesterday. And from the looks of it prices on eBay (http://search.ebay.com/Spikeout_Games_W0QQa14Z24215QQalistZa14QQcatrefZC3 QQcatrefZC6QQcurcatZtrueQQfclZ3QQfposZ06355QQfromZ R2QQfsooZ2QQfsopZ2QQftrtZ1QQftrvZ1QQgcsZ1135QQpfid Z1413QQpfmodeZ2QQreqtypeZ2QQsacatZ62053QQsadisZ200 QQsargnZQ2d1QQsaslcZ2QQsbrftogZ1QQsofocusZunknown) have dropped to a normal level. I'd say that its safe to say that there was a reprint.

Is there any new word on this yet? Just curious to see if anyone actually got their hands on one of these SpikeOut re-prints yet or if it's just a rumor.

You mean besides the fact that I can pick up four brand new copies of them tomorrow if I wanted to from my local EB? What kind of official word are you looking for?

I wanted to know if that re-print rumor is bullshit or not. Just like the Rez and Suikoden re-release rumors a year or two ago were bullshit.

EB's site still says it's backordered and doesn't say anything about about being able to pick up a copy in-store tomorrow...that's why I'm asking.

I hope there will be a reprint as I wanted to get this game when it dropped under $15... but I'll probably pick it up as soon as it becomes available (if reprint there is).

I love being smart.

I looked that up about 2 weeks before the first release. If someone is dumb enough to pay $150 for a game that will be $29.99 in 2 weeks, then they deserve it. I just wish I sold info on how to get the game cheaper for $5.

This isn't a reprint; EB just bought a few thousand copies to sell before other retailers. All the buzz about the limited run was just internet BS. I sure there will be plenty of copies for everyone, and that the game will drop to 19.99 before too long.

Is it going to be the same for the UK release then?

Are EB going to get limited numbers in? Is the UK version going to be limited perhaps?

Yes and no.

This isn't a reprint. EB bought / was able to receive a bunch of copies beforehand because scarity = sought after. Therefore, with a relatively small franchise that almost no one knows about, Sega can get it a bunch of attention so when the "reprint" goes on sale, a lot more people are interested in picking it up.

If no one had heard that SpikeOut: BattleStreet was only having an initial pressing of 3600 copies, I doubt most people would have cared. But hearing that meant a ton of buzz on game sites (like this one) and a bunch of people rushing out to buy copies. Hell, I did (Although it was more for beat-em-up goodness than rarity.)

I think Sega played their cards perfectly with this one.

There is still 69 available.

What's that I hear? Oh it's just hundreds of ebayers weeping at their credit card bill.

I don't think the print run for the PAL version will be especially high.. I think it comes out next week (26th).

Someone should preorder a bunch from Amazon. Then sell them on Ebay w/ a $49.99 BIN price. Just state in the auction they won't ship until 04/18, and have them sent directly from Amazon.

Hell, $30 was too much for Spikeout. It's a horrible game in my opinion. It should have been released at $20.

add the game to your cart, change quantity to 100. You'll get a pop-up saying something. When the page reloads the actual stock on hand will be displayed in the quantity box.

as of this post, it's down to 31

I don't get it. people on ebay are still selling it for over $40 (with BIN at $120) when the game is now in stock at all major e-tailer for less than $29 !!!

Did I miss something? Is it still going to be a rare game or do you think that it's going to drop value overtime?

it's simple. too many people on ebay live on planet ebay, and when you're on that planet, all supplies are RARE, HTF, and OOP. i used to live there, but i got broke and got the hell out of dodge

LOL
