god dammit, will someone who is good at this game give me some tips on how to actually play this game!???
i just got it for my DS, and i cant even beat the second level , this game is hard as balls!
it seems so random as to if you have any chance of succeeding in the level or not, and i suck at this game!!!!!!!!!!
some help please... :(

Hmm... some tips... just keep playing it. You're bound to figure out things that do and don't work. You know that you can safely walk under certain colored blocks if they will be caught by blocks of the same color on the sides (sorry if that isn't very clear, but it's hard to explain in words). Also, buy more lives from the store.

Tips...

1. ALWAYS USE MAZINGER Z - He can take a beatin' and keep on tickin'....once at least. :)

2. Drill as fast as possible, don't stop, KEEP GOING.

3. Only get the air canisters that you don't have to go out of the way for, unless you're desperate for them.

4. If you can, start out all the way on the right or left side and keep going straight down as far as you can go, no chance of anything falling on you there.

5. Don't be afraid to bust through a brick, if it's the the quickest way and you see an air capsule right after it...go for it!

6. BUY ALL THE POWER UPS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I can't stress that enough, those will help you immesureably.

That's about all I have for you now, I was in the same boat as you at one time, until you get all the power ups and get some practice...you'll be going insane. I eventually cleared almost everything.

Everything Cmosfm said is true, and I'd also liike to add that you should GO SLOWLY. That upper screen is there for a reason, so look and see if anything's in danger of being jarred loose and falling on you. If not, drill to your heart's content. If there's something up there wobbling, get to someplace safe and just wait for the whole screen to settle before continuing if at all possible. You'd be amazed at how much drilling you DON'T have to do because so many blocks will match up and disappear. When all's said and done, there's often going to be two or three air capsules that you didn't pick up falling right within your reach. Simple stuff liike this will help you immensely. The game isn't really about speed (even though it's fun to zoom down there), so just go slow and try to clear the areas without getting squished too much!

Similarly, if you're not in immediate danger, stopping right at the end of a section can also net you several air capsules.

thanks for the tips guys, im starting to get it now, the power ups you can buy have helped quite a bit,

is it considered "cheating" or looked down upon to use the power-ups??

I don't see how it could be...it would be impossible without them IMO. The game is definitely a hard one, but it's so damn addicting.

I never use the power-up items and I've cleared every time attack, mission (other than outer space), and I'm doing the 800 tons (Mexico) pressure driller mode right now. Rest assured, the game is not impossible without them.

update: 800t pressure driller has now been cleared.
