Ok, so I got out my old PlayStation to play some Final Fantasy, Twisted Metal, ect. I hook it up, get everything ready... And on FF7 the system just freezes on the black PlayStation logo(I try about 5 more times, but to the same effect). Then I try other games, and still have no luck(sometimes it will just say "Please insert PlayStation disc".
All the games I tryed were in great/flawless shape, and the system doesn't have any dust in it or on the laser.
Anyway to try and fix this??? I tryed the upside down method but to no luck.
Anyway help is greatly needed.
Thanks very much.

Which version of the PSX do you have? The first model with the RCA inputs or a later version?

If you have some sentimental attachment to that particular model i have a first model i'd be willing to part with that works (except is doesn't support the dual shock rumbling for some reason).
The only reason i dont use that one anymore is because that particular model didnt work with my Goldfinger import device.

Hmmm, well I finally got mine working...
But I could always use a backup.
How much would you be looking to get? (and does it include the box/manual?)
Thanks.

It doesnt have a box or a manual, i purchased it at a yard sale a few years ago.
At most i would ask for it would be $20 unless you don't want the cables and such for it, then $10.
I'm not sure how much it would cost to ship but if you are interested i can find that out.

You might want to try the above, I can vouch for it personally.
I bought a disc-read error PS2 for $40 on eBay and then bought the kit from the site above - it's only $11.95 w/ free shipping. I am not electronically or mechanically inclined but it's simple to install the little magnet on there and clean everything. I tested a blue disc on it and it wouldn't load at all. Right after following the instructions on the kit it loaded up fine, as has every single game I've tried since.
This may sound like a shill but I don't care - I got a PS2 for a total of $52 and it still works great today, 10 months later.

That's not bad but if you look around you could find all that info and could of saved $12, I know how to fix PS2's and I learned by just doing that.
As for the Ps1 problem, a while back I had the same problem this might sound wierd but it would freeze at the black screen on some games including FF7 and other games. I completely opened it cleaned it inside out and after that it worked fine. It might be a different problem with yours but my problem was my PS was just dirty. If it's a laser issue you can find those on Ebay but you're better off just buying another PS instead of going through all those headaches. Hell the guy here at the flea market has PSOnes's with all hook ups and a controller for $20 I was thinking about buying one to mod it, so I'm sure you'll find the same deal around your neck of the woods.

it does support the dual shock but since dualshock controllers werent standard the fuses do blow sometime when trying to use the,.. this can easily be fixed by replacing the fuse with a bit tougher one.. like in the never psx machines.
