View Full Version : Take a game to the grave...

Now you've done it.
In celebration of that perfect game of whatever...you leap to your feet and give joy to the gaming angels in heaven.
After 8 hours of sitting on your backside, the sudden movement gave tear to the vital organs behind your fatty ribs.
In your final spat of nonsense, your gaming buddy manages to understand only a few words pouring from your bubblin' lips.
"Bury me with my cart, old friend. Bury me with my cart."
In your trademark "half-assing" you fail to tell your old friend what cart you were talking about.
Share with us the cart you wish to be buried with.
Share...before it's too late.
You get one choice...and you should consider yourself lucky for getting that.
Imagine what it was like 50 years ago...being burried with a Tudor Electric Football or a Parcheesi board tucked in your jacket. Rest in peace my butt.
Me?
Burgertime : Intellivision.
Assuming I'd be able to PLAY the game, it would bring back a lot of memories of when I was a kid playing with my parents. We spent a lot of time listening to music and playing Burgertime as a family. Thats one of my best memories. It's also a great game!

Hmm.... Final Fantasy 4.
HAHAHA......GREAT thread!!!
My cart of choice would be World Driver Championship for the N64. It's the N64's answer to Turismo.

Legend of Zelda for the Nes, still one of the best games ever made, period.
Now only if they have a Nes and a TV in hell, because everyone knows thats where i am going to wind up. LOL

Baseball Stars for the NES.
Just had a thought...
Now this might be interesting...I wonder if they can place a monitor inside a headstone...and then implant two DDR pads on the ground, so that if people want to visit my grave they can play a little DDR while they are there.
I kind of like the idea of folks dancing on my grave :)

I was gonna have a coffin custom made with my complete NES game collection (when I complete it)....
and inside, I will be holding a Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt cart. That's all, because it owns all others.

Gameplay wise: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. My favorite game of all time.
Collector wise: Dracula X: Rondo of Blood. While not exactly that rare, just expensive, this is my holy grail for now.

Dunno, probably Space Harrier. (hey, i could cheat and take shenmue....)
But if I was smart I'd take a simple-yet-you-can-play-forever handheld game like pokemon or cardfighters.

Same here, though not in too much detail... I've been too consumed with figuring out what my last meal should be.
I think I'd ask for Oekaki Puzzle for my NGPC, along with as many AAs as can fit in my casket. Chances are it'll take me generations upon generations of playing to get all 200 puzzles figured out.
But this is kind of funny to me, seeing as how I'd like to be cremated. LOL

Considering the amount of times I died in Oregon Trail for the Apple II, I'd find it completely fitting to be buried with it.
Who can forget the countless hours of shooting wildlife as it scurried across the screen?

Maybe Tetris. I love that game :P.
Or maybe the GBA SP version of Donkey Kong Country, so I could play the game as well as the Jungle Beat minigame. So fun. And how about rigging up a solar panel on the headstone to provide power for the GBA SP? :D
EDIT: I forgot about Tekken 3. Mmmmm. I have an idea: how about installing a chute to load games from the headstone directly into various systems that could be buried with me. Then my family can change games every month or so. ;)

Castlevania:symphony of the night or maybe Final Fantasy 6,both fine games. However I think I'd go nuts with only 1 game no matter how good it is.

Naw, it'll be a RCA Studio II.
As for a game to be buried with, I plan on being cremated, and I'd much rather have a wake with lotsa beer, Polish Keilbasa, and all my systems hooked up for play. Keep my urn in the center of the room.

It's been about 6 months and weve seen a lot of new gamers since I started this thread. I'd be interested in hearing what the rest of you have to say. If you've already posted and have since changed your mind, speak up. Keep in mind that you'll be dead...so you don't get to play the game. lol.

Solitaire for Windows 3.11
If they have a multi-player Solitaire in the afterlife, maybe we'll compete. But truthfully it would be Mario All*Stars + Mario World so I could play any of the Mario games I want. With that said, some may want to take those retro GC and PSone redux CDs with them to play 20+ atari or activision games.

I think I may have my ashes spread on my favorite console.
Wouldnt it be cool to haunt a Top-loader NES?
I would state in my will the console had to stay in the family, and not get tossed out or something! @_@
( I read a story about a little boy who was dying of cancer, and he loved the Pirates of the Carribean ship ride at Disney Land. His last wish was to have his ashes spread on its deck. Even though Disney said no, his mom did it anyway. People claim to have seen a little boys ghost at the front of the ship late at night. :) )

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. Solely because figuring out infinites with 56 characters would take a long damn time. Toss in difficulty settings and multiplayer and I should be good. Can Abyss be playable in my version?

Bury me with Contra. If there's an afterlife i damn well want to spend it killing Red Falcon.
And in the even that all copies of Contra get destoried in some bizare even, say the second coming of Jesus or something fucked up like that, then bury me with Killer 7.

Tetris on the Game Boy. It keeps me from dying of boredom at work, so I wonder how well it would fare when I'm dead AND bored? ^^;
Runner-up: Metroid Prime Pinball. I don't know why, but I love it.

Those pinball games can be a lot of fun. I can spend an hour or so playing Devils Crush if I get started on it.
Give me street fighter II for SNES.

Hmmm... I like that someone ressurected this old thread (no pun intended). It's an interesting one. A kind of "favorite game" thread with a twist of rigor mortis. Nice.
Mine's gotta be Tetris for the NES. It's my favorite version of the game and I have some fond memories of it involving my parents.

Super Metroid.
I'm planning to get cremated, though. Come to think of it, having my ashes stored in a toaster NES shell (from a unit that can't be repaired) would be kinda cool. I should seriously look into that.
On another note, I'm also going to make sure the hearse is a little late to the funeral. I have been known to say I'll be late to my own funeral, after all. :P

Second Choice: Tetris for Game Boy
Third Choice: A Boy and His Blob for the NES
When I die, I want to be buried in a huge NES console, and my coffin would be shaped like a cart. In order to bury me, I'd have to be pushed into the NES, then pushed down, and the lid on the NES would close.

I'd say Super Mario All Stars but I don't like the subtle differences between those versions and the original NES games. I guess I'll have to say either Super Mario Bros 1 or 2 on NES.
