It's about time. The chick in the screen shots looks a bit too voluptuous to be Aeon though. I was hoping that the game would look more like the cartoon, but oh well. As long as it doesn't suck, I'll be happy:

This game is going to be a 'first' for a couple of reasons:

1. This is Charlize Theron's first appearance in a video game title, likeness and all. (if I'm wrong, please correct me)

2. It's the first official Aeon Flux game for the current VG consoles.

Wow. Charlize Theron. That woman is H-O-T. Anyone remember her in "The Devil's Advocate"? :-P

Wasn't there a Aeon Flux game in development for the PS1 that got canned? I thought I remember hearing that it was built on the Thrill Kill engine (or vice versa).

I don't understand why they even need Charlize Theron to do the voice overs for anyway. Yeah, she's playing her in the film but it's Aeon Flux! She's not supposed to talk!

I used to have a principal of an old school of mine who I always thought would make an excellent casting choice for the villian guy.

Personally I find it bizarre that they are reviving this franchise after so long. It could turn out decent though...guess we'll have to wait and see.

the likeness of her (charlize) is pretty good. i wonder why such a seemingly under the radar film would garnish a multiple system release. i think a beat 'em up/platformer using a graphic (2d) system similar to the art of the series would have been better.

Aeon Flux video game = tremendous excitement
Aeon Flux video game based on the upcoming movie = tremendous disappointment
Nothing against the film (at least until it's out...), but damn that's a wasted opportunity.

This is exciting, I didn't even know they were making a movie. I hope that they retain the wonderfully sureal art style of the original show in both the filmic and videogame adaptations. And as much as I like her Charlize seems like an unlikely choice--she's not nearly lanky enough; in any event it looks like a nice prospect.

you would have to go through some very tall and anorexic models to come up with a body like aeon has in the series.

Pfft. Just cast Calista Flockhart or Lara Flynn Boyle for the lead and you're all set. You can't get skinnier than that.

Well, here's the lovely Charlize Theron as Aeon Flux:

Only 4 images, but still, she isn't too bad of a choice to play the silent heroine.

I'll try the game no matter what, but I do agree that the original art style would have been more appealing.

Charlize Theron makes a good Aeon Flux for the movie though. \^_^/

I wonder if ol' Aeon will have some girl on girl scenes like the MTV shorts... LOL

Ok, mind out of the gutter now...

I think in order to be anatomically correct to the cartoon, Theron would have to be about 8 feet tall. ;)

I am totally with you on this.

I would have really like a game based on the animated series. I LOVE the animated series. But you know, the charm of it is in its strange design, and you simply can't have human actors and actresses performing the roles of Aeon, Trevor, and that crazy world of theirs.

I'm immediately turned off of the movie seeing Charlize Theron in that outfit. It's just NOT Aeon Flux. Really, the movie should have been an animated feature as well. You don't see them making a Spongebob Squarepants movie with human actors, so why this nonsense?

Ugh. This may be old news, but the trailer is up on Apple's site. Christ, they fucked this one up big time. I thought it would be bad but ... It's a goddamn Sci-Fi Channel movie with cheesy one-liners. The trailer is painful to watch for anyone who has actually seen the cartoon.

haha. charlize chose to wear less skimpy outfits than the designers had originally intended.

btw, the other show cheung did was "Reign: The Conquerer". i've seen 4/5 of the DVDs and its kind of boring, aside from a few interesting enemy designs.

Well even with live action they could have gotten the hair right. Its like they purposely did whatever the hell they wanted. Im sure Aeon Flux the game based on themovie based onthe cartoon will be as good as street fighter the game based on the movie based on the game....

A hundred times more exciting than either the movie or the game: the complete Aeon Flux collection coming out on DVD in November!

Woot!
