The prices in USD would be top dollar... but for GBP they are really high. I would actually think that these games may be slightly more common in the UK than the US, but I'm talking out my ass again *sigh*. It's a hell of alot more than I'd pay I'm not ashamed to say :)

Why would you think that?

Panzer Dragoon Saga is certainly more common over here than it is in the USA - weren't there only 10,000 copies of the US version released? I'm sure there are more UK copies than that floating around.

There we're 15,000 copies in the first run alone and for what I've been able to gather there was at least 2 runs of the game (though I can't find an exact figure for the second run so it could be anywhere from 15,000 to 30,000 for the whole of europe)

No, I'm pretty sure that's not true... It's not actually that rare, just quite sought-after.

Arcturius, any chance you can link to the place where you've got the details of the first run? Just intrigued is all, speaking as a PAL Saturn-head :)

From what I heard, there was rumored to only be about 5,000 US copies of PDS released back in the day.

Of course, I knew that PDS was going to kick ass, so I bought it the day of it's release. Sure enough, only 24 hours after it hit the shelves, the game was sold out everywhere, as not too many stores received more than 10 copies for the fledgling Sega Saturn console.

As for the UK version of PDS, dammit you UK gamers..... you guys always get the coolest shit.

I mean, your copies of PDS included a cool looking series of cardboard boxes whereas our whack-ass American copies only got the same bullshit, oversized "Sega CD jewel case" along with cheap ass black sleaves for the other 3 game discs.

It seems as if all the other countries besides the USA always get cool stuff packed in with their software titles.

When the hell are US manufacturers going to realize that we want some nicely packaged software titles?

According to an ex-Sega Europe employee who used to be on the old Edge forum, there were 16,000 copies of the PAL Panzer Dragoon Saga, spread across 2 print runs.

That's to try to make us forget the fact that we only actually get about 50% of the games that you guys do!

Sorry, limited sympathy here .. sure, we got PDS in nice packaging. But we didn't get Suikoden 3 at all. Or Katmari Damacy. Or about a a gazillion other great games ..

Not to mention the fact that we have to wait about 4-6 months longer, and pay around 1.5 times more for everything.

A cool-looking series of cardboard boxes? I've never heard that one before. Having said that, Sega's US packaging did tend to be pretty rubbish!

Most UK artwork in general is pants though, especially in comparison to Japanese counterparts.
