No, I didn't join that Pat Robertson cult. I just received a trade package of 3 games from jeffg which finally put me over the 700 cart mark in my NES collection!! I never thought I'd see this day *sniff*

I've been collecting NES since 1997 but I have been slowing down allot these past couple years. Mainly because most stores stopped selling used NES stuff and the carts are becoming harder to find. Really don't like buying them off Ebay either, so I usually just trade for them or search in the wild. In fact, I think I only bought 8 or 9 of my 700 NES carts off Ebay.

Anyway, if anyone is curious, here is a list of the remaining carts I need. Not all rares either. There are a bunch of carts here I used to see all the time but just never got around to picking up yet (like the Simpsons ones). I've *NEVER* seen a Jimmy Connors Tennis, Waynes World, or Gemfire though:

Nice job! Do you collect them complete or loose as a goose?

Two of them I found boxed at a local video store for $5 each. The other, I traded some kid online around 40 boxed NES carts for.

Some of the ones I remember buying off Ebay:
Cheetahmen 2
Namco Ms. Pac Man
Kiwi Kraze
Qix
Lolo 2
Aladdin Deck Enhancer + Games
Caltron 6-in-1
Clu-Clu Land
Mermaids Of Atlantis
Impossible Mission (SEI version)

...okay, maybe I bought a little more than 8 or 9 off Ebay but not much.

I collect them loose but I have around 60-70 complete in my collection that I happened to stumble upon in my hunts. I'd like to have more obviously, but it's hard enough trying to find the ones I need even loose!

Nope. I actually used message board sales less than I used Ebay. I'd say 90-95% of the NES carts in my collection were tracked down in the wild. I used to be a delivery driver for a local frames warehouse. We had stores all over the state that I'd deliver to and most of them were located in mini-malls. Coincedently, allot of these stores had Funcoland stores in the mini-mall with them. When I was done with my deliveries, I'd go into Funcoland with my list and usually walk out with a stack of games. Did this about 3 or 4 times a week for about a year and got up to the 500 cart mark in no time.

Don't have any pics. All of my carts are stored away right now because I never really had the space to display them. That has changed recently though and I always told myself that I'd make an effort to once I reach the 700 mark. Maybe I'll start looking for shelves this weekend. :)

Awesome bro, I'm hitting very close to 700 myself. Actually, I'm waiting on a couple packages to arrive, once they do I'll be at 685.

And on that note, here's a shameless plug of my "trade me the games I need" thread I have going on! http://www.digitpress.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=57098

Congrats! Great milestone.

I thought this would be about a new video game.

I'm thinking "Pat Robertson cult" is it going to be like a Silent Hill game with Tammy Fay trying to beat you to death with her eye lashes and Pat trying to convert you into a zombie. LOL

"Congraturation!" I remember hitting the 700 mark for loose NES games in late 2002. It was around that time that I seriously started to consider going for the whole set complete. Since 700 loose only took a little over 2 years I thought getting them complete wouldn't be much tougher. Wrong! After 2 and a half years of going for only NES games with boxes & manuals included, I'm not even halfway yet (just shy of it).

Anyway, good luck with the last few games you need and don't be surprised if that urge to find the boxes and manuals starts to get a lot stronger now ;)

Congratulations. :) For some reason, despite all the other game shopping I do online, I've never been big on buying NES games online either. I've bought about 4 carts on eBay in all the years I've used eBay, and I got another 6 or so carts here. The rest of my 125 or so carts I got out in the wild, the vast majority coming from my local GameStop here in NYC and an independent game store in Washington state.
