I thought this was supposedly worth much more than this?! Although I know practically nothing about Neo Geo ..

Up for grabs is a conversion of the game, kizuna encounter, in its notoriously rare and expensive euro format
That explains it I think.
Ugh, that label looks pretty bad :/

LOL Do you think the BIN would have been there long enough for someone to post it to a forum if it was genuine? There's like, 5 known copies of it, and the last one sold for around $12,000. ;)

It was about a year ago. Do a search here or at neogeo.com.

dead serious, do a DP search, the auction is obviously invalid by now though. But yeah, when there's only 5 copies and it's Neo Geo, expect it to be BEYOND insane

There is nothing special about the game. It is exactly the same as the Japanese version, with the exception of the label, manual and cover insert.
Why is it so rare? Ummmm .... your guess is as good as mine, I would imagine. Perhaps it just sold spectacularly badly, and the excess copies were destroyed?

I know we dicussed this last year when it sold, but I truly do think that a few cases of these are sitting somewhere.
Anybody notice the price of Resident Evil 2 for the Gamecube when down drastically last month? It's because my cousin and a business associate of his found 3 or 4 gross (144 pieces total of 576) of them in an old "new" stock. Same with everything: Garbage Pail Kids, Night Trap, and tons of collectibles that over saturate the market.
You'd have to be smart and sell 1 every 1 or 2 weeks on something like resident evil 2. But with Kizuna (which I've heard is horrible Jajaja) there would be no way to keep it's value that high, but it would still be worth a nice chunk of change depending on how many were found.

It's all speculation unless we ever get any hard facts, but I would guess that it's much more likely that any unsold copies were returned to Japan and re-labelled/re-used over there - Neo carts were expensive to produce (around $100 each just for the ROM chips), so it would seem a great waste to spend $1000's producing a batch and then leave 90%+ sat in a warehouse somewhere.

You speak the truth and I was there when a somewhat friend of mine sold it for a friend of his on ebay. It was on ebay...then got taken off. As he got an offer I think he couldnt refuse. I think it might've been more then $12,000 USD. Yah...5 copies is what I believe to. Probably the top collectors have them. All the rest were recalled back for some reason. Not sure why...but...yah...that game is one of the rariest Neo games out there.
I hate conversions to...even though I own one. lol

what is conversion? Did they modify a MVS cartridge to work on AES?
