I havn't seen any news from the Eidos off branch that i really liked. i was hoping for more games from them (well ports of games). anybody have any news on them...are they gone, or are they working on more ports.
Last game I've seen them in is R-Type Final.

Well, honestly, there games didn't sell very well. These "Fresh" titles were very lackluster, the only thing special about they were the fact that they differentiated from the norm. I had fun with a few of them R-Type Final, Mr. Mosquito & Mad Maestro, but they didn't sell well, people didn't want them.
R-Type Final sold the best of them all, it was a recognizeable franchise, but no one was paying 49.99 to fly around as a mosquito....cept me of course. :D

and me...god i still love that game...but i just loved the fact somebody was porting weird (by weird i mean games that woudn't normally come to the states) games. i remember hearing about Ka (mister Masquito) , and people saying how great of a game it was, and that we would NEVER see hit hear. i just wished they continued with that.
and me :) I actually had that pre-ordered. What a great game.

I wish they would bring Mr. Mosquito 2 (Ka: Let's Go Hawaiian!) over here. Look:

I still consider Swingerz Golf the best golf title on the Cube. A very underrated game.

According to my knowledge, the caption reads, "Psycho Linda!"
I want that game.

I miss that label...It was nice to see a publisher take some risks on importing weird JP games here, even if it wasn't a financial success, at least we got mister mosquito & R-Type Final, both of which are excellent games.

It was sad to see this label dissapear, personally I enjoyed Mad Maestro more than the others... which is surprising considering how much I enjoy impossibly difficult arcade shooters that require god-like reflexes. (although R-Type Final wasn't that enjoyable. :) Still no one else would have brought that last R-Type game to the US and I was damn pleased to see it on retail shelves. However the most I ever saw it sell for was $30 and that was during launch week. :hmm: Then a few months ago Toys R Us was blowing them out at $14.99 - instant Christmas gift for the shump fan.
Hopefully with the release of Katamari gaining such popularity and high reviews we'll see more publishers pick up the strange, interesting, and "Japanese" and Fresh Games will have not died in vain.
