ID
- Will there be a DOOM IV (4)
I can answer this one now: no.
In a recent edition of Icons, Carmack himself stated that ID is moving into a new franchise - something he had wanted to do before Doom 3 development began but didn't get off the ground (sounded like internal conflict over this decision). He didn't say there would NEVER be a Doom IV, but it's not on their radar anytime in the near future.
Port, you can add this to your list if you want to get the official quote on this, but I'd make it a low priority.

Hmm...I updated the 2nd post I made with a few new questions, and it seems they were overlooked, so I'll just repost them here:
Ask Koei if they will ever make a sequel to Gitaroo-man. Tell them there's a first-born male child in it for them if they do. Laughing
Ask Square-enix if they have any plans to continue the Chrono series.
Ask nintendo if they're ever going to bring Mother 1+2 to the USA, and if Mother 3 will be released in the USA too, If it ever actually comes out.
Sorry for reposting them, but I just want to make sure that they're added to the master list. Thanks again for answering these, and I'm really sorry about asking so much!

Okay, great. Thanks for adding in my questions :) I just thought of one more question:
Nintendo: Is there ever going to be another Punch Out!! game? If so will it possibly be on Gamecube or maybe a launch title for the Revolution?
That is the only one I can think of right now. I will probably think of more later :)

"MS Train Simulator was canceled because?"
Because MS and the developer came to odds, and the half finished MS Train Simulator II was cancelled when they desolved the relationship.
"Simbin: GTR release date for the PC?"
I don't think Simbin will be attending. They're aiming their products at the European market (GTR PC, GTR for the Xbox, and GTLegends for the PC).
"Conspiracy Games: If they're still translating Phanatsy Star Trilogy"
They're not involved in the project anymore, might be better to ask Sega that. I doubt Conspiracy will even attend, they're in a horrible financial situation and have basically been idle for months.

We've been going as media since 1991.

I see Ganbare Goemon for the DS has been asked about, but considering my recent Goemon craze, I have a somewhat similar question to ask...
Konami, will you guys translate and port any Goemon games from the past? I know the American audience would enjoy Ganbare Goemon 3 for the SNES much more if they didn't have to push their way through a bunch of Japanese characters. And Ganbare Goemon 4... PLEASE get it over here. Thanks in advance. :D

Ask Konami if they want to make alot of money and make a Castlevania collection for the PS2....
Ask Playmore when we can see a classic Neo Geo Compliation.
Ask Microsoft if they had any non paid third party input on thier new machine
Ask Nintendo what incentives they are going to impliment to game companies to lure them back to make games for their new system.

For Sega-Ask if there's any plans at all for Comix Zone, Jet Set Radio, and (probably useless but) Eternal Champions in the future? Also if they are planning to start putting out Smash Packs again? Really loved the Dreamcast one, and would like to see it continue.
For Namco- besides putting in another vote for me for a US Namco X Capcom, tell them I need for more Breakdown.
For Oddworld Inhabitants-ask if their new game called Fangus is still coming out. I heard that they are closing their game studio down and focusing on TV and Movies. There wasn't any mention of the fate of the new game in the article.

A *lot* of these questions are no-brainers (as if Konami isn't working on MGS4?) or fanboy fantasies (as if Konami would allow a third party to translate and release Policenauts?), but you can cross these ones off the list:
More Taiko type games?
Taiko Drum Master tanked in the States. Ain't no more coming here.
Working Designs: Lunar series? Radiant Silvergun in the US perhaps?
Ubisoft currently owns the rights to the Lunar franchise, not WD.
Tecmo: What about Tecmo Hit Parade in the US?
Yep, it's coming here.
LucasArts: Whats next for the Ballblazer franchise? How about a new Indiana Jones game? Sam & MAx 2 PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD.
LucasArts canceled Sam & Max 2 (and Full Throttle 2).
Atlus: Why low production run of ChoroQ?
Because it was a quirky Japanese game in a series that has never done particularly well in the States.
Agetec: A new RPG maker in the US?
RPG Maker 3 has been announced for the PS2.

I have to agree with Zach. Just looking at the list I think we could chop about half of the questions right out, and streamline it into a more 'proffesional' and serious list.

OK, I have another one, but it's not so much a question as something I want TOLD to the Namco rep.
First remind them that Tales of Symphonia sold over 250,000 copies in america, then proceed to tell them that the Tales of Rebirth review on RPGFan.com got over 10,000 views, more than any other review this year, including DQ8 and Musashi, and that it was a positively glowing review, and wrap it up by telling them that this proves that the US wants more tales games (Like ToR,) so why can't we have ToR AND ToL?

I'm just sayin' that time is very precious at E3, and that publishers and developers usually don't want to be asked questions to which the answers are obvious.
Not that you'll be talking to many developers at E3, anyway. You'll mostly get PR peeps who don't have the knowledge or authority to answer the questions on this list--at least, the questions that won't be publicly answered with press releases during the show.
I'm not trying to be negative, but it's important to remember that E3 is all about glitz and hype. It's not a place for hardcore gamers to ask serious questions, or expect thoughtful answers.

Well, I'm sure half the questions will be answered by my touring of the show. Hell, most of these questions are 'Is X game or X sequel coming up the pike or not?'. Most major company questions are 'You know every popular franchise you have or had? Are you going to do anything with it'. Hell, Sega has 18 of these questions alone. I plan to phrase each batch of questions as 'my readers submitted a few questions for your company, a minute of your time to answer them'. I don't think that's unreasonable or something a PR rep would turn down.
And if you count some of these questions as thoughtful or serious, then maybe you didn't read the entire list? ;) I obviously won't ask a question I have an answer for... and I probably won't ask these questions until Thursday at the earliest. Well, I know that a few of mine have been answered already, and they were good answers :D
1. I asked if Lucas Arts was planning on bringing out a new Indiana Jones game and they indeed are :D
2. I asked if Agetec was going to be bringing out a new RPG Maker, and the information came out a couple of weeks ago :D
3. I asked if Spike was going to be making any new wrestling games and a couple of weeks ago they announced that they were going to be working on a brand new Fire Prowrestling title :D
4. I asked if Nintendo was going to be releasing any of their NES classics onto a collection for the Gamecube and then they announce that with the Revolution you will be able to download supposedly every NES, SNES, and N64 game ever. So...I think my question was answered in a BIG way there :D

Well, I looked into it and found an answer to my own Chulip question. Turns out it hasn't been scrapped. Natsume showed it at E3, and they gave it a new release date of Q4 2005. A long wait compared to the original January release date, but better than nothing.
They say the reason for the delay is that they want an "awesome translation", which is understandable since it doesn't seem like the kind of game that would be easy to translate (which is the main reason why I'd prefer to play it in English; it seems like the type of game that really benefits from understanding the text).
However, there is also talk that they're giving the American version brand new graphics to localize it better for the US market. They're saying that some of the content isn't right for the US market, which contradicts their earlier statement that they would absolutely not make changes to the game to reflect the cultural differences between Japan and the US. A lot of gamers are taking this as if they're sterilizing the game for a US audience, considering it does has a lot of content that the US will see as risque.
This is Natsume we're talking about, though, so I have faith that it'll be a good, accurate localization without too much in the line of Americanizing, toning down, and censoring.

Isn't there a Harvest Moon game(s?) where you play as a girl and look for a husband? I'm guessing that's what the question was in regards to. If you mean "for girls" as in "you play as a girl" then More Friends of Mineral Town (GBA) and Another Wonderful Life (GCN)
Isn't there a Harvest Moon game(s?) where you play as a girl and look for a husband? I'm guessing that's what the question was in regards to. And I'm also guessing the US will never see it, or the Tokimeki Memorial games for girls, or basically any kind of game where you play a girl and try to get a man... :/
Yes, those to Harvest Moon games listed are games where your character is a girl.

Natsume is shipping both Another Wonderful Life and More Friends of Mineral Town in North America. Harvest Moon is Natsume's bread-and-butter franchise, y'know. They're putting "From the Creators of Harvest Moon" on all their non-HM stuff now.

Working Designs: All questions
They were a no show. Wave goodbye, boys and girls.
WD didn't have a booth, but Victor was walking the show floor, and he claimed to be working on multiple projects -- but he didn't name any specific titles.

Claimed to :/
No major site updates in well over a year.
No mention of a specific project since the fabled Goemon Collection in August 2002.
Extreme delays regarding the release of their last project, Growlanser Generations (9 moths!).
More than 2.5 years between Arc and Growlanser.
Complete and utter failure to respond to customer service calls. (geez Victor....I know you need the money...let me BUY stuff from you!)
And no official booth at E3.
I'm surprised he lasted this long.

If it's not too late...
SNK: This isn't much of a question. Rather, it's a demand. Release an updated version of "Baseball Stars..."
Ahh...that's probably like asking for an updated Ikari Warriors, if not even more futile. Any game that doesn't have Metal Slug or KoF characters in it doesn't stand a chance with SNK anymore :(

Add "Selling replacement discs on eBay" to your list. :)
And don't misunderstand. I'm as skeptical of his claim as you are, especially given my personal history. But every time I'm convinced it's truly over, he hangs on for another year. I won't believe WD is dead until I see Victor's *house* on eBay.

Ah, okay. I can't claim to be keeping up with the recent Harvest Moon games much (good ol' Harvest Moon 64, along with the older ones I played before it, are enough Harvest Moon for me). I was under the impression that those games allow you to play as a girl but don't specifically cater to a female audience, like the old Game Boy Harvest Moon where you could play a girl but there was no dating aspect to the game or any gender-specific interaction (not that the male character in that game had any either). I'm surprised that they would release the specifically female-targeted Harvest Moon games in the US, seeing as they'll completely alienate the male audience with those titles and males consist of the vast majority of gamers in the US, but seeing as Harvest Moon is an unusual series that attracts many more female players than the typical franchise does, I suppose it makes sense.

I have a good number of scribblings written down with answers, but they're home and I'm not. :\ Immediately after getting back from E3, I had to housesit for my sister with her two neurotic dogs, and el paper... is back home. This weekend for sure.
