I finally came to terms w/ a overseas contact of mine today and paid for my new PC Engine GT system. I'm so psyched. I've been picking up PCE HuCard games for a little while now and I'm dying to play them on the go. Yes, I know the battery life really sucks...but I can overlook it until I can track down a AC Adapter and or battery pack.

I'd consider this a 'grail' piece, as all I've ever been able to find were the Turboexpress handhelds. I may be $145 poorer now, but at least I'll have an alternative to playing my GBA or DS next month while on vacation.

The seller told me that the system plays both US and JPN games. I'm not sure if his claim is true or not as I haven't been able to find out anything if GTs were able to be modded. If it doesn't play TG-16 games, no problem as I only have a few worth playing.

Curious to see how many other board members here own a GT?

I've go a gt and I love it. Even if the speaker doesn't work. I can't get it to play USA games, though. But all the good shooters are on JPN Hucards anyways. :D

One of the two consoles I regret I had to sell to pay such a small portion of college (actually paid my plane trip there) is the GT - the other one being my jag/Jag CD collection.

Up until the PSP that I got last week it was the only handheld that really blew me away when I played it.

Do shooters show up good on that tiny screen? I hear the resolution is really good, but I've yet to actually play either the GT or TE systems. I hope so, b/c most of my HuCards are shooters.

Also hoping Time Cruise II works great...one of my all-time fav pinball games.
