Based on "Rogue Agent"
The DS version will sport a heads-up display on the touch screen, and will be the interface for hacking computers, picking locks, and other spy-tacular actions. There will also be an exclusive virtual training mode, pitting players against legendary Bond villains, such as Dr. No and Oddjob, to get weapon upgrades.
The single-player campaign has six missions, and sees the gamer battling for status amid the underworld's elite. There will also be a multiplayer mode for up to eight players, who can frag each other wirelessly with only one copy of the game necessary.
GoldenEye: Rogue Agent is rated "T" for Teen and will sell for $29.99.

Kinda disappointed it's not a remake of the 64 version. Things have been looking rather drab for the DS....the last game I remember coming out at work was Rayman DS and now with the PSP coming out and basically blowing it away, it's kinda sad. Here's hoping for Castlevania. I understand the DS is really more of a gimmick machine but it seems kind of wasteful.

Missed opportunity. Sure, a port of an n64 game might not do so well, unless it was marketed as it should be: "hey, remember how you and your friends played goldeneye constantly for a summer? then you went and traded in your n64 stuff? well, that was dumb but now you can play it again, wirelessly". Something like that maybe, heh.

I too am VERY sad that it's not the Goldeneye 64 version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The current game isn't all that good to me, the multiplayer is alright though. I really wanted an update of Goldeneye 64 dammit!!! I still will get this new one though anyway!

EA does not own the rights to Goldeneye: 007 for N64, Rare does. EA only owns the liscense to the current and future Bond titles. So basically unless the Bond liscense is spread unto multiple develpers we will never see another Rare Bond title. Rare is owned by Microsoft now so if they did get the rights back it would be an Xbox exclusive.

damn i really hate to say it but oh boy, i can smell virtual boy& jaguar like sales in the very near future, and you know i really was pushing for this one : [
maybe just maybe katamari damachi and age of empires will save it,
the only real chance they stand is if they launch a free online play asap and release some Great ds exclusive games for it.
this ruined my night : p

The screenshots look pretty cool and 8-player deathmatch with only one cartridge is really cool.
At 29.99 I will definitely get it.
As for the dearth of DS software. Let's just say that Meteos' amazing blend of Tetris, Columns, and Puzzle Fighter has held me over quite nicely for weeks now. Best puzzle game since Puzzle Fighter.
