View Full Version : [PS2] PAL Rarity List (Update 05/08/05)

Ok....
I have just looked quickly....
I haven't found: Baphomet's Fluch 1
Baphomet's Fluch 2
Risiko
Breath of Fire 3 Spezial Edition (only 5000)
I will search more, and post the others (maybe ;) ) tomorrow....
The database lists the english releases (see for country specific releases in the discription field) - so the 2 Baphos are under "Broken Sword" (the original english title), find Risiko under Risk.
You did well ( ;) ) when pointing out the special edition for BOF3. We didn't know that only 5000 were made - the mention of the special release is already in the next database queue being sent to Digital Press.
Give us more missing data now ;) :D

Aaah....I understand....
Ok, this was my fault :embarrassed:
The Breath of Fire 3 Special Edition is a box including the game (with another cover), a dragon figur, a t-shirt and a dragon pin
And the boxes are numbered...

It's published by 505 Game Street which is an Italian company so it's probably easier to find there. Australia also seems to get them earlier. I've seen several copies here in Sweden but it took a while before it came out here. The same thing happened with the PS2 version of Zoo Keeper (aka Zoo "Puzzle"). Speaking of Australia you can find several copies of the PAL version of XII Stag at ebay.com.au.

There's at least two copies of XII Stag in every EB I've been to during the current mid-year sales.
It's RRP is $29.95 but EB are taking 40% off. I picked up a copy just over a week ago.
I've seen it in Target too. It'll probably be a little rare as it's not widely available and shmups aren't exactly a mainstream game-type that people want to buy.

A few things that I own:
limited edition:
The Operative: No one lives forever, ltd. edition, incl. Soundtrack CD
Press Samples:
Gumball 3000: disk in white PS2 case w/ cover + short manual
Mission Impossible: Operation Surma: disk in jewel case. Comes with A4 folder w/ press materials and a CD-Rom containing hi-res pictures, concept art (and trailers, iirc)
Kya: Dark Lineage: disk in jewel case. Comes with A4 folder w/ press materials, no disk on this one.
Wipeout Fusion: 2 disks in PS2 case (the ones, where one disk is in an extra tray that can be flipped over, hinges are on the small middle part of the case). One disk is the game disk, the other one contains press materials. The case has no cover (at least mine doesn't) and has an extra digipack/cardboard sleeve with "limited edition" printed on and a cool holographic cover showing an ingame shot.
EDIT:
Ribbit King is missing on the list in the first post. Developer is BanDai.
Deutschland sucht den Superstar (German Idol) is missing on the list.
Flucht von Monkey Island is missing, too.
The subtitle of "Wallace and Gromit" is "Project Zoo"

I just was looking through the games department of the local "Kaufhof". They had a few 'Acclaim Family Fun Packs' for the PS2. Each pack includes Vexx, Burnout 2 and I think Fur Fighters was the third game. No special editions, just the regular boxes and an additional box w/ cover art around it. Goes for 58 Euros, and I already have Burnout 2, which is the only game out of these 3 that I'm interested in, so I skipped.
Couldn't verify online if there are more volumes than the family fun pack... Should this be listed as an extra item?
BTW: I mentioned Deutschland sucht den Superstar before. Is it already listed? Couldn't find it....
EDIT: Is the Metal Gear Solid III tin-box ltd. ed. already listed?

I suppose it's a German only release, as it is based on a German TV show (based on the "Idol" shows looking for singers).
It's very cheap and easy to get, because it sucks. Bemani-style game: Press correct buttons at right time...
Where do I find the SLES no? I could look it up next time I see it.

I found a "Rayman 10 Jubiläumsausgabe" in a store. Contains 3 Rayman games (M, 2 and 3) on 3 discs with individual SLES no's. So I guess, those are the SLES no's of the individual games, that were also sold seperatly.
Couldn't write down the SLES no's. Will do that later to compare with the individual games (if their SLESs already are on the list)

hey guys, good work so far, i just added all my PS2 games to my collection here on DP :)
i have a few ideas though
1) You should add a new entry for Special Editions that have a different content than standard release.
What i mean is, games like SingStar and Eye Toy Play should have 2 entries, one for the game only version and one for the game+mic/cam version! same for KoF that was released as standard and as version with DVD, or Primal.
Games like Transformers on the other hand that just had another box w/o any other content should remain one entry.
2) ^^ that's also true for the PSOne list (Puchi Carat and other examples)
3) you listed a GT4 BMW version?!? if that one is not the full version but a demo (your description indicates that) it should not be listed as game, but as demo
4) you should not call Sony SCEE, i know thats the abbreviation but if someone wants to search for all Sony games (incl. US games which is not SCEE ;) ) he has to search at least twice. Not to mention all the old games (for SNES and so on) have of course Sony and not SCEE or whatever as pub
5) i noticed you add developers even if they are the same as the publisher, afaik we should only add a dev if it's different from the pub (saves space in book!)
6) why is there only one Tenchu game??
7) SingStar: The Dome (SingStar Pop in the UK iirc) is missing (and wasn't there some weird swedish SingStar too??)
8) eeehm, where are ESPN NHL 2K5 / NBA 2K5 / NFL 2K5, also missing: Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith and LEGO Star Wars, also "Monster Hunter", "Cold Winter" (is this an old version that's online????) and "Viewtiful Joe 2"
and here's some additional data, i noticed a few unknown pubs
Disgaea: KOEI (dev is Nippon Ichi)
Finding Nemo: THQ (dev is Traveller's Tales, NOT Disney)
Futurama: SCi Games (dev is UDS AB, not UDS ;) )
Gradius V: Konami
Kya: Atari (dev is not Eden Studios but Eden Games)
Star Ocean: Ubi Soft
Steel Dragon EX: Midas (dev is Warashi)
Tenchu Wrath of Heaven: Activision
LotR - Return of the King: Electronic Art
Gitaroo Man was devd not only by KOEI but by iNiS too
Kingdom Hearts was dev by Square Enix, not Squaresoft
and one last question, who the heck is "CE Europe" anyways????

thanks for your precious input - please note that the PS2 list needs much more work (also the latest update I have on my harddrive) as I'm not able to maintain it as it should because of the PS1 work I do (I told Joe on several occasions that a replacement for me would be fine) :)
1) and 2) needs to be discussed - I would like it too but there should be some old discussions in the forum of the do's and don'ts when I remember correctly.
3) You are able to play for some time on that one, yes. So I put it into demos. Am I assuming correctly that a "preview" is unplayable and a "demo" is playable (to some extent)?
4) There is the diff between SCEE, SCEI - if it doesn't matter I gladly change it to Sony
5)yes, we do. No problem to change that.

Do you known if this game also comes with the Game-Trak 3D controller or do you have to buy one seperately?

For Svenska Hits? It's actually been mentioned earlier in this thread. It's SCES 53185. Like the other Singstars you can buy it with microphones or without.

you're in Australia, right? i gotta check my copy if it even mentions D3, maybe it's a co-publisher in Australia
I don't think the packaging is any different. It even has the European rating on the sleeve (the Australian classfication is a sticker over the top).
Plus Australian/NZ version PS2 software has -ANZ on the end of the SCES/SLES code number.
Steel Dragon EX doesn't have this.
