View Full Version : Who's your wife, and who's your mistress?

From a console standpoint, which system is your bread and butter, the one that you always come home to, but the one that you often take for granted (your wife)

Which console is your mistress, you know the one that gets you really excited, and you are really into, but maybe it's just that initial lust period and it will fade? (your mistress)

For me, my Wife is the Super Nintendo. Old Faithfull as I like to call her. Always there when I need her, so solid and underapreciated and taken for granted. But also kinda stale and been there done that at the same time. I mean the SNES has all the great classics, but it's kindof a situation where I know everything there is to know about the SNES, and that old excitement isn't quite there with it, but I still know that it's rock solid and dependable for great gaming goodness. Mama!

Then you have the grass is greener on the other side theory. My mistress. Ah, how exciting she is. So volumptuous and curvy. Undiscovered country just wanting to be explored. Total infatuation and pure lust. I wonder if it's just a phase? Will this just be a flash in the pan like all the other hoochie mama's? The PC Engine Super CD setup for me is my mistress right now. I'm just in the courting stage with Her, and life is bliss. Let's see how things are 6 months from now.

I've got alot of old Mistresses in my closet. Sega Saturn, now that was a real dame! Sony Playstation, wow that body! Sega Genesis, what an azz on that baby, she has junk in the trunk especially when you put that Sega CD under her!

The NES I will always go back to eventually. It was my first home console and my first console to avidly collect for. I usually swap mistresses about once every two weeks, my last two were Saturn and Genesis. Over the last few days I've been having some great late night visits with dreamcast. She's just so visually stunning I'm just mesmerized by her.

The wife - Easily the SNES.

The mistress - I've been picking up quite a few PSX titles recently and found quite a few that I missed during its primetime.

Xbox Live will always be my wife. The GBA is my mistress, but she is quite neglected.

wife = Genesis
mistress = SNES
gay lover = Saturn (imports)

LOL at Iron's response.

Heh... I think Saturn is BOTH my wife and mistress. Kinda cool how that works out... I'm only into Saturn, and it usually excites me like the first day I met it.

Though in late 2004 the DC was a bit of a mistress..

I like to date those crazy laser / cd types. Sometimes I call them back up later.

Marriage? Maybe Neo Geo Pocket Color. I only have a couple games for it, but I play through them all the way, all dedicated like.

Wife - that'd be the NES.

Mistress - I'd have to say the Dreamcast, although she can get a little testy when I don't buy her new imports to help continue our relationship - as the picture shows.

Then there's a whole thing with the Virtual Boy but I was young and just experementing - I swear!!

The NES is my ol' ball and chain.

The PS2 would be my mistress. It's always there when I need that something extra.

Wife = Atari 2600. She takes up the most space in both my house and my thoughts. She's the one I talk about with the guys whenever the subject of gaming comes up. We're coming up on our silver anniversary, you know.

Mistress = Dreamcast. Oftentimes when I'm out shopping I find myself secretly browsing for gifts I might come back to the store and get for her later. Last month it was a Mad Catz driving controller. I felt a little guilty but man-oh-man Crazy Taxi was never as fun as before this. "WHO'S YOUR SUGAR DADDY?"

The console I have chosen as a life partner is good enough for me, and that is the good ol Nes. Soon I will be down to one game I will need for my set. I think that will hold me over with a couple of games to play :D

Mistress- Possibly my DS at this point. But she's not quite putting out yet.

Wife- Genesis....i always return to it
Mistress- Anything Nintendo...Cube especially or GBA...I'm usually a sucker for Mario...but at the moment, I've really seen my true passion with Sega, and I dump Nintendo like a ton of a bricks if it wasn't for GameCube and the DS (which I still have not played)

The wife - Sega Genesis. I was raised for a little on the NES but the Genesis was my main gaming pal during the 11-16 age frame, the range of age where nostalgia seems to hit the most.

The misteress - SNES. It's new to me, and it was off to a slow start because I started with cheap games. Problem is, I was used to cheap games being good ala the NES and Genesis. With the SNES, the cheap games are more often than not, not so great. But ever since I got Gradius III, shes got me hooked in!

The mistress is all forms Neo Geo. I migrate from one platform to the next but no matter what something neo always gets me rarin' to play.

Wife: Probaly the PC, as I STILL spend more time playing games on a PC then any of my consoles, and have for years.

Mistress: Either the XBox or the PSP, we rotate back and forth and sometimes do a threesome. ;)

Wife: SNES. I've had the same console since 1993 and it's still looking beautiful after all these years - hasn't yellowed at all. :) Also, I have more games for it than I do for any of my other consoles (112 at the time of this post).

Mistress: Gamecube or PS2, depending on what I'm in the mood for.

SNES - The wife. I never get tired of it. Somehow, the graphics and sound seem just as spectacular as they did 13 years ago.

PS2 - The mistress. Easily my favorite current-gen console. The library is extraordinary. Main stream, bargain bin, there are all sorts of PS2 games I enjoy. And it's so purty, too...

Mistress - Xbox, ooooh what you and Doom 3 do to me in a dark room with your lovely sound :)

POLYGAMIST! :P

Wife: Good ol' PS2. Sure, she's young, but so am I, and we look forward to many happy years together.
Mistress: I neglect her while I'm at home, but whenever I have reason to roam the DS lures me with her Tactics Ogre siren song.
Childhood friend from my hometown that I still have feelings for: SNES

(Yes, I'm still a girl, but gender-switching would be too confusing :P )

Wife - NES. She's the one that I'm always buying for, the one I want to make complete, the one that completes me....my first....my last....my everything. She's the one I lay next to at night, and the one I wake up to and hold in the morning. She's the one that let's me fondle her U-Force while she grasps my Advantage.....

....ok, enough. :P

Mistress - PSP. Oh, so sultry. So sexy. PSP, I will see you tonight once more, but only once more, our love will be hotter than ever. growl.

My wife would have to be the Dreamcast, shes been there for me through thick and thin and I can trust her to be there for me when I need comfort.

My mistress....thats gonna be a tough one consicering I just broke up with the PS2. I'd have to say the Gamecube, something new and bubbly.

The Wife...Atari 2600. I really need to drag one of mine out and actually plug it in and play it.

The Ex-Wife...Atari 5200. Oh, why oh why must you taunt me with such cool looking and fun games and then your joysticks continually break? And then you expect me to go out and get some marital aid called a "Wico?" Pffft....I'll stick with emolators, thanks.

The Mistress...PS2. I have nearly a bookshelf full of PS2 games I play while eating, feeding my daughter, petting the cat or whatever. I can't pull myself away from it but I somehow know I should.

The 2600 is my nagging wife: "Why do you only have 120 VCS carts? Get some more carts! When are you going to clean me? Why did you get two more 2600 consoles? Why are you playing 2600 games on an emulator? Aren't I good enough for you? Why am I in this crate? AltairBoy? ALTAIRBOY!"

Currently my mistress is the Lynx but I occasionally switch to the GBA, the Jaguar or the Dreamcast. (I switch mistrisses often). :D

Wife: NES

Been there through all the years and I keep coming back to her every night to play a game of Tecmo Super Bowl or two. I still have the same machine since I was kid and I admit she's looked alot better back then but its not whats on the outside that counts but whats on the inside right.

Mistress: N-Gage

I'm out with her all day talking to her and sometimes I'm out late at night with her. I normally hide her in my pocket so I don't get caught. She's not as hot as some but she does allot of tricks. ;)

Wife - Genesis. It was the only part to survive my collection selloff in the late '90s. She has seen me through the good times (Phantasy Stars) and the bad times (Timekillers). Our family has recently grown to 75 children.

Mistress - PSP. Oh the silky smoothness of your shiny surface why did you have tempt me with your beautiful screen. And all your ablities just had more spice to the....

Genny!!

I...I...I didn't see you there! No there's nothing on the monitor. Really! I'm...uhh...just reading the DP forums.

What do you mean to your mother's?!?!?

Oh really! What about that time I came home and caught you with 32x and SCD all connected up!!!

Old ball and chain: The SNES, my favorite system ever. Why? Well with games like Chono Trigger, FF3, Contra 3, Skyblazer, Axelay and Super metoid how could I call the SNES anything else then the love of my life.

Botty call: The Xbox, mainly because she not only plays her own great games, but she can also get dirty and play the other "girls" games too.

Wife: NES. I always come back to her.

Mistresses: all the other 8-bit consoles, but primarily the 2600. I've had some wild month-long flings with her. And whenever I get a hankerin' for a VCS game, I end up losing track of time and eventually realize that I've played like 15 different VCS game over the course of many hours.

Wife: SNES. I've had the same console since 1993 and it's still looking beautiful after all these years - hasn't yellowed at all. :)

Same here. :) I always go back to my SNES, my first console that I ever personally owned, whether it be to play an old classic I love or to try a brand new Super Famicom game I never knew of until recently.

My mistress would be PlayStation, I suppose. Even though I say I love N64 more (as well as NES and SNES), I can't help but keep buying more games for it. I have a rocky relationship with it, since I dislike Sony and the quality of the hardware itself, but the third party games just excite me so much. I have more games for it now than any other system I own. o_o

Wife: NES. She always knows how to please me.

Mistress: Normally I would say my PS2 which I find I play far more often nowadays, but I recently purchased an Xbox. I've been digging into the library of Xbox games (of which there are only 10 or so I want to play), and I've spent pretty much my last week with it. Beat Mechassault within a day, Halo in another, and now I'm digging into Fable. Next up are Kotor and Crimson Skies.

My wife would have to be my Xbox. Of course, my previous wife, GameCube, keeps calling for her alimony payments from time to time. Thankfully my mistress, Dreamcast, is always around. She's been there for me through all my recent marriages. ;)
