Do not bid on an item when there is more then a hour or so left. I cant stand it, i find an item that I like and it has like 6 days left and has bids. Always ONLY BID as close to the end as you can. If you bid once at teh beggining then that just raises the final price.

The best is the person who has to be the high bidder for the entire week. If someone knocks them off, they come right back to "reclaim" the high bid and drive up the price. They do it all week. But they still lose at the last minute anyway to the snipers!
It's great for the seller, though! :P

I know that people can report you (or ebay will notice too) if sniping becomes and every auction occurance and kick you off right?

Ebay will NOT EVER Ban you for sniping. Ebay actually supports it and tells new users about it and how to do it well.
My tip for ebaying?
INCLUDE YOUR NAME AND ADDRESS along with Ebay ID and Item number on a SEPERATE PIECE OF PAPER with payment, or in the Message section of paypal. I can't STAND people who right it on the check, I'm CASHING that thing ya know, how am I suppose to find your address and item # AFTER I've cashed the stupid check?
Is that the most basic thing in the world? Yes.
And it's STILL my second biggest problem.
Number 1 problem?
People sending multiple payments (Billpoint and paypal charge PER transaction) And people sending the wrong amount because they couldn't see the 5 inch type at the bottom of my auction saying PLEASE DON'T PAY until I contact you (Within 12-24 hours).

Would someone please tell me what the deal is with all the people who say "please do not use eBay checkout"? What's the story?
And does Paypal really charge for transactions?

EBAY checkout is just a retarded way of making contact between the two parties easier. If you can send and receive email, checkout is a waste of time. I ask for the same info in an email and it's more efficient.
Paypal certainly DOES charge sellers to receive payments if you have a Business account. And, you cannot receive credit card payments without a business account. So you are pretty limited if you don't have one and pay the fees. Naturally, if you are only a buyer, you may not know this. You pay a transaction fee plus 2.9% of the total amount received as a fee to paypal.
