My first PSP had various scratches, along with dead pixels all over it. Returned that one, and the second one had one dead pixel. About a week later, the whole entire screen was dead. I returned THAT ONE, and now I have 4 dead pixels.
Should I return, keep it, or get my money back and buy one somewhere else?

Settle with the 4, you can't even notice them unless you really really try. I have 4, and honestly, the dust under the screen bothers me more than the pixels.

A few dead pixels in a compact active TFT LCD display is common, it's a trade off of the manufacturing process. Heck, back when the Turbo Express Portable came out (handheld TurboGrafx-16) this was common as well, it's just one of those quirks about this type of technology. If there's an entire line or row of pixels out then it's a BAD DISPLAY, a few here or there is no big deal. However since Sony is honoring replacements right now you could always try - then again it could always be worse, it's your call.

I got mine from Wal Mart. It works fine ive never gotten a dead screen or pixel.

Yeah... thats why I'm not buying one. Why spend money on something thats not perfect. I'd take it back in a heartbeat.

All this dead pixel talk scares me about buying one. If I am going to shell out so much $$, then it has to be perfect, PERIOD.

mine has one. I don't see it unless the screen is completely black. I'm not worried about it.

Exactly! I took my DS back today for a new one without a Red Dead Pixel right in the middle of the top screen! The Dead Pixel units should be sold cheaper....
i feel sorry for the naive kids/casual gamers that dont realise about this, thinking its how it is meant to be...
