What the...How common is this?

So I'm taking some digital pictures of my games a couple of weeks ago and I power up the strip that is running two of my arcade games. About an hour later, I notice that the screen is gone on My Hero. The sound is playing, but the video is gone.
What causes this and how in the world do I fix it? It is utterly black. I have opened up the inside of the cabinet and can see nothing out of the ordinary.

id say that there is a good chance your monitor died....or at least a part went bad

find out your monitors manufacturer and model number for some better help
