I really like the Zelda and Mortal Kombat scene, but I think the actually sounded the best on the Dr. Mario (fever) song. It really sounded almost exactly like the actual song does! :eek 2:

Whenever I see replies like those above I, it always ends up being completely lame. But not this time. That was decent, thanks for sharing the link.

That was awesome! I sent it to all my friends and they loved it.
Kinda reminds me of when I was in French class, we had to act out Snow White in French for a class in grade school. The teacher wanted us to sing "Frère Jacques" while we were running around, well... none of us knew that. SO! We sang the Super Mario Bros Theme the first time, then the next time we sang the 2nd level song as we bumped into each other.... I don't think the kids got it though. =p

seemed kinda fruity to me :hmm:
It was so fruity,
flames shot out of my speakers
as soon as that *guy* started talking!
I had to shut it off when that
psycho started jumping around!
You will *not* be seeing me do
any of THAT in my live stage show...
...maybe if somebody slipped me some ACID!

Awesome performance. I'm actually surprised that the people in the audience seemed to get the references. Also, am I the only one who thought Mortal Kombat was out of place in that lineup?

I enjoyed it. MK did seem out of place, but whatever. File is too big to be that crappy looking in quality. At least it played.

Yeah Mortal Kombat was definately a little out of place. Zelda was priceless though...

The only problem, besides the bad notes hit by some of the singers, is that the Tetris theme is originally a Russian folk song based off a poem, not an original Japanese work like the guy said.
You can see "Korobeiniki" performed in what I assume is its original context here:

Forgot the desciption I found
"This lyric folk song and dance has been a Russian favorite for 150 years. A countryside peddler has a basket filled with attractive prints and brocades. At first-sight he falls in love with a pleasant girl. He is ready to lay at her feet all his worldly goods for a glance from her dark eyes and a kiss from her ruby-red-lips. Lyrics are by the great poet N. Nekrasov"

I always thought it was "Korobushka" maybe ones a litteral Russain spelling and the other a translation or something.

For some reason watching this makes me cringe, and I love to listen to videogame music. I was also a big singer in highschool (I even did state singing competitions and the like) - but I have a hard time enjoying this one.
I'll have to admit, I did bust out laughing when the kid yelled "Mortal Kombat!" though it did kind of break the NES theme of things.
I still prefer the Mario theme Skat version that's on the Nintendo Big Band disc. Then again, I am a music snob.

I saw this on another board the other day that's been down since. Thanks for posting the link because I didn't have a chance to send it to other people.
I agree its pretty lame, but the music is great. I love when voices imitate musical instruments, but I can't stand the actions the group does. Solution: Minimze it.

anybody know anything about this group, where they're from? Look like college kids.
Clever stuff :) There's definitely better a cappella groups out there tho, even at the college level.

Pretty lame, imo. Then again, chorus class for me in school was a bit more annoying than school clothes shopping with my mom and two sisters as a kid....TORTURE.
So, I am naturally biased against that kind of thing. LOL

Yeah, they're Redefined, an Acapella group up here at the University of Wisconsin: Madison.
They're college students and all as well.
I see their stuff advertised a lot on campus, but I think this deal they just did was a one time thing or something. They usually just do normal acapella stuff.

Ah. So this is unrelated to Madhatters and TUIB? (I can never remember what that stands for or even if that's the right acronym... something like Turn it up in blue or something)

What a fantastic find! This is going to be burnt to a thousand CDs to ensure it makes it through the rest of my days. Wonderful, wonderful!
And one of the girls was a hottie. Ah, look at me mixing business with pleasure. But which is the pleasure, the games or the girls? 8-)
The link is dead so you are going to have to go to this newly locked up topic to get it, hehehe.

Just saw this video posted on another board. I loved every bit of it. That, was, awesome.
For those who said it was lame, it's no lamer than collecting video games. Embrace your geekiness.
