What to do when cleaning fails?

I´ve repaired a Snes controller opening and cleaning it, but there are some Genesis ones where that doesn´t seem to work. What can I do now?

chuck it out the window. Genesis controlers are too cheap to worry about anyways.

Yes, but they are not exactly easy to find them here. They are the only ones that I have broken :angry:

What exactly is wrong with them? They don't work at all or certain buttons or what?
