I've been having problems while playing Wild Arms 2 - I've had this game in my collection forever and played through maybe an hour before this, but I've been giving it a serious playthru, and I've been having problems...

Seemingly at random, some enemy attacks seem to freeze the game up completely. The attack name appears at the top of the screen, the enemy does his "magic" animation, and then the game zooms in on the targeted character, and spins 360 degrees eternally.

Sometimes, if I leave the game sit long enough, it will finally continue, but it usually doesn't...

Has anyone else had this problem? x_x

***EDIT***
This only seems to happen in random battles, and not in boss battles... i dunno...

Yes. This is because Wild Arms 2 is a piece of crap that not only doesn't deserve to be in the series, but should never be played by gamers.

I gotta disagree with your dislike of the game...

To me, it seems kind of like how Lunar did its sequel - same world, but far in the future. I played thru Wild Arms 1 immediately before I played Wild Arms 2, and it's kind of amazing how they have subtle references to the first game - the "two gems to power the EMMA motor" (a reference to the Gemini Crests in the first game used to complete the Emma Motor to complete the Gull Wing), the "Gull Wing class" ships (another reference to the Proto Wing/Gull Wing you get in the first game), the EMMA motor that they don't know the history of (found in the first game), "metallic based life forms" (the Demons in the first game and more), and more

I haven't finished the game yet, in fact, I'm not off the first disc yet, but past the lame adventures of the three heroes seperately in the very beginning of the game, I've loved every minute of it. The music, much like the first game, is outstanding - especially on the boss battles.

In fact, I'd argue that both Wild Arms games have some of the best Boss music of any video games in history. I know this is just opinion and really can't be backed up by arguments, but its how i feel! 8-)

... i just hope this game doesn't fall apart on the second disc...

and yes, I ABSOLUTELY HATE the 'searching for locations' thing they introduced in this game. It doesn't really retract from the game for me, but I still have Wild Arms 3 here, sealed, and I'm hoping they eliminated that...

Are you playing on a PS2? I noticed that some PSX games, most notably Grandia and Lunar: Silver Star, would 'lock up' on random during battles. Often when I was just about to save.
