Today I found a NES 6 in 1 cart by Caltron. It's rated as a R8 $175 by the DP rarity guide.

I've never sold a video game that was worth more than about $35 on Ebay before.

What would be the best way to sell this thing? What price should I start the bidding at? Should I have a reserve? at what price should the reserve be? What day and time would be the best time to end it?

Basically any help at all in regards to trying to sell this thing for the maximum that I can get. I need to the cash to fuel my lust for everything PC Engine!

You might do best offering it for private sale first. See if there are any takers. It's up to you to judge what sort of price you want to ask for however.

After that, then try eBay. People tend to prefer a higher starting price than a reserve price, so instead of starting it with $1 and a reserve of say $150, start it at $100 instead.

You don't insult the bidders and you know what the item is worth. And don't be down on lacking of bidding, remember most people snipe!

If you are still thinking about it, then put it a BIN anyhow. Won't cost very much if you think someone would bite at $200 say.

I would try selling on here before Ebay. DP doesnt take a percentage of the sale meaning you could sell it for less on here and make the same if you sold it on Ebay.

eBay is the best bet if you're looking to get the most for it. Start it low (like $1) and let the market dictate the value. There's no point paying higher fees to start at $100 when there's no way it'll end under that anyway.

Start low and put a reserve on it. Ebay is you best bet. Advertise it for sale here and maybe on a few NES specific forums. Put it up for 7 days and see what happens.

Why bother with a reserve? Costs more and turns off some potential bidders.

Just Auction it :-)

For a high value, high demand rare item there is no reason to put a reserve, or a high start price (which you will pay extra for).

You will get what it is worth at the end of the auction if you start it at $1. In fact you may do better as you will end up with more people watching it than if you start it high, which will immediately put some people off.

Start it at one dollar and if you think it will go for less than you want then put a reserve on it.

If it is complete then you can expect from 250 - 300 dollars.
If it is loose then you can expext 125 - 175 dollars.

Those arte just my best guess though ;) I will be watching closely if you do auction it because I have a complete copy which I will never sell and I recently found a loose copy which I am considering selling ;)

Well Leon , if you are asking me.... I just know alot of people and am always looking in obscure locations for games.

As a matter of fact I still need to clean the loose copy I found and give it a testing. :/

I've seen multi carts that have been removed by the ebay police because the are mostly pirated. To get around this you could offer a crappy game say Super Mario Bros. with the 6 in 1 cart for free. I was watching a auction where the seller did exactly that. The auction finished without beign pulled.

Really ? I didnt think they were pulling the Caltron 6 in 1 or Myriad 6 in 1 auctions because they are not pirates. They are regular release games :hmm:

Farm it to NESworld before eBay. Lot of people who are NES collectors go there, but not here.

This is probably the most famous Caltron ever. *tik*
