I came across a web site that lists individuals with complete MAME CD collections of every ROM that mame supports.

They will ship you copies of these CD's for the COST of CD's! And later on, you'll get update CDs as new MAME games are supported in the future.

Anyone ever tried this service?

I never had the need to myself. How much are they charging for the whole set btw? It should come to about 8-9 cds.

hi my first post and im helping someone. At least i can feel good about myself.( LOL )
I'm in Australia and used one of these guys to get the complete mame .61 romset. I sent the disks in a reply paid envelope and six(yes six)days later my computer was full of mame roms. They even give you an extras disk with some of the cabinet pics, help files, backgrounds for mame32 and heaps of other stuff.
So unless you can d/l ALL of the roms in under a week(unlikely)you'd be crazy not to go for it.!!!!!!!!!! Hope that helped. :D

I've tried A MAME burning service, but I'm not sure if it was the same service you used. Mine was Tombstones UK, and I was really satisfied. I'm thinking of going back to order some console and computer game ROMs from the same guy.

I used them for a complete .59 set of MAME after my HD crashed and I was left with over 5 GIG's of roms to find and download. If it's the same guys I got mine from it was 7 CD's 8.00 shipped.. that was quite a deal.

I'm optimistic I'll be a satisfied customer soon. It appears that Tombstones.co.uk went down recently (just before I went looking for them, of course), due to legal pressure/threats. However, I emailed one of the members of the Tombstones group and the end result is that I mailed him 14 CD-Rs yesterday, along with return postage, and he is going to return them to me with the complete set of MAME 0.63 ROMs.

I can't wait!
