That's somewhat local to me, I'll definitely have to check it out. No U-Haul for me...maybe I'll bring my stepdad's truck though.

I probably won't be buying anything, but it would be cool to go to one of these. Maybe the three of us can meet up.

I am thinking about going to this, but it is a pretty far drive for me (around 7 hours). How big will this auction actually be? Is there a guarantee that there will be a bunch of Arcade Games? I am really looking for either a Mortal Kombat 1,2 or a Street Fighter 2. Do you think they will have any of them?

last time i was there....hmmm...id say between slots, pins, cabs, and cocktails there had to be 500-600 different items
i got there at 8am, left around 230pm and they were maybe 1/2 way done
so yea, its big
chances of finding what you are looking for are pretty high, but, 7 hours is a long trip considering testing time starts at 8am....your better off hoteling it over night in cherry hill

You guys still doing this???
My friend and I are REALLY thinking about doing it now. We would be driving down the day before and staying the night. Does anyone know how much it costs to rent a trailor for a 1 way trip from NJ back to my town? I would want one large enough to hold 4 arcade cabinets (standing upright).

Hmm, I haven't been to one of these in a few years. Used to go to this one all the time. Maybe I will head up, I am in Baltimore. You all still going, would be cool to finally meet some other retro gamers?

If it rains enough to cancel my wiffleball tournament I will be there looking for a cocktail to MAME. I will be looking for some familiar faces and DP shirts if I go.

Todays the day, and I didn't end up going. :( It's just too far of a drive (since gas costs so much).
For the people who did go, can someone please write up what games there were and how much they went for.

Didn't remember all that was there, but they didn't have that much anyway...maybe 50 arcades, 15 pinball, and other random stuff.
Didn't buy anything myself, but Dave (port) and Adrienne (Achika) got some decent stuff at good prices. We had a nice adventure with their Uhaul truck too, but I'll let them tell you guys about it if they like.
Overall though, everything was on the cheap side...even with some non-working cabs going for only $1. Some guy got 3 jukeboxes and a basketball game (the real kind) for a buck...and he didn't even really want them :eek 2:
At the very least, it was fun meeting up with everyone. Hopefully the next one will have some arcades that I want.

Overall it was disappointing. If you just wanted a cab to MAME-ify, you would have been in luck...a number of cabs went for a dollar, five dollars, twenty dollars, etc. There was no reserve on anything. Prices were really low but most of the stuff was just junk. The few good machines that were there went for reasonable prices...a Powerstone, an NFL Blitz, a couple Golden Tees, a Neo 2-slot (Dave got that), a couple Tekken 3s, and a MvsC. Unless I am forgetting something, that's the extent of the good stuff (as far as regular cabs).
There were no classic games whatsoever...no Pac Man, DK, Frogger, Zaxxon, Mr. Do, Asteroids, nothin. There was a Space Invaders cocktail that didn't work (and I'm sure someone took away for 10 bucks).
Prices on pinballs were pretty reasonable.
There were a ton of slot machines selling somewhere between $70 - $170. They said these were on the way to a slot machine show and the truck broke down. OK.
The event took place in a really dingy building that was not nice to be in. Cabs were really dirty. My allergies are bad enough as it is this time of year and it made me sick.
Two biggest problems; lack of cabs and lack of electricity. There were well less than 100 cabs. Plugging cabs in was a pain in the ass. They had these cheap power strips daisy chained all over the place.
At one point Dave referred to the location as the "Island of Misfit Toys", and I had to agree. There was some fun to be had examining some of the odd things there. Some of the most unlikely machines had been converted into gambling machines (like one with a flight yoke). There was an Arkanoid in a Xevious cab that someone had painstakingly tried to make look like a real Arkanoid cab. There was a cockpit Pole Position 2 that looked like it had met the business end of an axe. I played Xybots for about twenty minutes without making a left turn.
I guess if you're the "fixer upper" type, and you don't mind moving large and heavy objects around, you would find many bargains and much to enjoy. I would prefer to just pay more money for good stuff.

Thanks alot guys for the responses. :)
I'm REALLY glad I didn't go. If I would have drove 7 hours (each way) , I would have been extremely disappointed!!!
I thought that Superauctions "guaranteed" at least 300 arcade games or whatever?
Was there a dedicated Mortal Kombat 1/2 or a dedicated Street Fighter 2?
I guess I'm just gonna have to buy mine on Ebay. Oh well.

200 - 1000 "pieces" is how they put it on their site. If you count the 50 or so slot machines, and a variety of flotsam and jetsam (they had a couple foosballs, an air hockey, a ping pong, a motorcycle, some PC stuff), 200 would be about right.
No Street Fighters (unless you count MvsC) or MKs.

Overall it was kind of a disappointment, a lot of the cabinets weren't fully working (their idea of "working" is the screen comes on, there's a picture... therefore it works, with no regard to the controls, etc.) Many of the screens wouldn't even come on.
The daisy chained power strips were causing fuses to blow left and right and many of the ports in the strips or the strips themselves didn't even work! Once you could find a cord working, you'd have to ruin someone else's game by unplugging so you could test the cab you had your eye on.
However, I'm *very* happy about what Port and I took away. Three redemtion/prize machines (Treasure Chest, a Lighthouse-esque game, and Hop A Tic Tac Toe) a two slot with Football Frenzy and Art of Fighting and finally a one slot with Neo Turf Masters which doesn't work (at this point, I'm not sure of the board is still in there, but I won't know until I take a screwdriver to it.) The two slot was the biggest piece coming in at $300, the rest were $10-45.

it was very disappointing...considering augusts cherry hill show had ~1000 pieces and there was lots of awesome classics
this show sucked
i got a slot for $75, tokens for $10, and a mini fooseball for $5
referring to one of the other comments about the space invaders cocktail probably going for $5.....it went around $200....i was amazed...i was hoping to grab it for a steal at $5 because there was no pic or sound....but that price was crazy
people were paying way way way too much for junk....$200-300 for cabs that at the last show were going for $20-50
pins going for $1000-1400 that at the last show were going for $400
way too many young kids and familys that didnt know what they were doing
i could criticize the people that were there that werent DP members or dealers of games all day, but it would take too long to type up
im going to the movies now...ill post pics of what i got tomorrow
hope everyone that got something today enjoys it

Yeah, that accurately describes the sound Nick and I heard when we walked into the building. We were just like "This is it?"
It wasn't such a bad day though, I would do it again.
