Incredible.... I 24 hour gaming station on Time Warner Digital Cable... I'm in heaven. Now I really know I'm a game freak because I can't stop watching this channel! I just finished watching the old Starcade show from 1983 where it's all about arcade gaming competition. They had the perople playing Major Havoc by Atari. I heard that tune in the beginning and said to myself... I know this from somewhere. It turns out, it was the "Name that tune" that DP was doing for a while. Is that a rare game to come across? It really looked quite impressive... one of those Vector screen games.
Anyway, check out G4TV on channel 212 for Time Warner Digital Cable.

I have satellite AND cable and we STILL DON'T HAVE G4!
I've even been on four different G4 programs... and haven't SEEN a single one of them! GOD DAMMIT! It's just plain INJUSTICE.
G4 and ANIMAL RIGHTS for ALL! >:(

I've been watching G4 pretty much non-stop for about a month now. Once the honeymoon is over, you notice that they repeat programs a LOT! However, still the best channel on cable, for sure.
Those two guys on Judgement Day crack me up, for some reason they don't annoy me like they should.

Have they repeated the Classic Gaming Expo coverage shows? I'd really like copies of them!

I think I've heard of that game... ;)
Yes, the dedicated machines are nearly impossible to find. It was also available in kit form as a Tempest conversion.
There was a dedicated machine at CGE2K2. Better get yerself to CGE2K3 on the chance that it's there again! It's easily one of the Coolest. Games. Ever.

I THINK I still have that on videotape somewhere Joe.. I'll look for it and if I have it I'll send it off to ya :)
Yeah I've had G4 for about a year(?) now. It's good watching but they do repeat a lot. Recently though they've been reshowing a lot of their "specials" for the end of the year. Make sure you catch their special on Japan gaming (Go Go Tokyo? i forget the name). Good fun watching :)

@Arcade Antics: Yeah, thanks. I had a feeling they were rare. The only one I still see, and continue to play is at a club downtown where a lot of bands jam. It's an original Asteroids with that brilliant vector screen and it still works fine. That's got to be worth a lot. They have it going on free play mode and I've racked up the high score. I was in there spouting out all of this gaming knoledge to them and explaining just what they had and they looked at me like I was crazy. Again, thanks for the info.

Do you mean you're playing Asteroids, or an Asteroids that was converted to Major Havoc? Asteroids machines are really not hard to come by, as there were TONS of them made. As long as you don't go to a vendor, you should be able to purchase your very own Asteroids machine pretty for a very reasonable price. That is, if you ever wanted one of your own. :-D
I don't have G4 TV either. Argh!

I like G4 although I admit I don't watch that many of their shows. I like G4tv.com, the show where they have 3 hosts take calls, read posts from the message boards and have a guest usually. My other favorite show is the game review show Judgment Day which is co-hosted by Victor Lucas and Tommy Tallarico. Tommy has actually worked in the gaming business, having done the music for a number of movies. I also will watch their weekly news magazine show, Pulse, and sometimes Filter in which they have various top tens such as Top Ten Super Nintendo Games or Top Ten Arsenals. The others I can take or leave but try to catch once in awhile. The one on-original is Starcade, an old game show where contestants played against each other playing the arcade games.

I have G4 and I love it, it is all that I EVER watch...I hate those dudes on Judgement day though...they annoy the hell outaa me. But I love all of the other shows, ecspecially Blister and Portal (I am a big MMORPG fan).
