At work today I was talking to my boss, Steve, and some how we started talking about playing the NES and Atari. He told me that he played either his Atari or NES a couple hours straight. Anyone else know if their boss is an old school gamer?

One of the managers where I work loves Atari. I hear tale he's nearing a "complete" collection for the 2600. I wouldn't know, the guy's an asshole, and I try my best to avoid him.

LOL, pretty much everybody I work with is a hardcore gamer. There are just a handful that probably break out the really old school stuff though. It's great in the sense that you've always got somebody handy to talk games with, but it makes it hard to score the good finds. Anybody that has vintage stuff tends to hold onto it, and if they hear of a good spot to grab stuff, they usually pillage it first themselves. :/

My last jobs boss was an avid emulator and current gamer. We were pretty good friends. Talked a lot about fighting games mostly and NES goodness. :D

My manager isn't really an old-school gamer but is interested in it. He's been thinking about buying a Vectrex for the longest time... somehow I don't think he'll get around to it though (too busy to use it much). One time our whole department had to work on Saturday, so I brought my Vectrex in. He quite enjoyed that.
When he was cleaning out his garage, he gave me his old Atari 800 and games, which included a few semi-rares like K-Razy Antics. That's a cool boss!

Lucky! X_x
Everyone here at my job is videogame ignorant. O_O
People here would only play video games if it meant they had to buy an awesome new video card or something. They aren't in it for the game.

Last year I was the old-school gamer boss. Got a bit of ribbing about it for awhile until I set up my Saturn and Dreamcast in my office. We had a few Bomberman tournaments and then people stopped teasing real quick. :)

My boss a year ago was a huge video game fan. He was always talking about "the old school games." So one year for christmas we all pitched in and bought a huge Atari lot on Ebay. I never seen him so happy.
Thats actually a really good idea if anyone is thinking what to get someone that use to play video games back in the day. Get them a system with a few games. They will love it.

All my employees think I'm crazy when they see all of my game collections, and when I tell them how much I have into all of them! Especially 8's & 9's for atari 2600, they are all younger and into all the new stuff, and see no point in the collecting aspect. I say f**k em!

One guy I work with is a gamer, he actually plans to give me his Coleco if he still has it. But he's always asking me about what newer games are worth playing.
My boss talks about how he used to play Atari games with his kids, but he's not a gamer.

I know of a co-worker who is into gaming. He is mainly an 8-16-bit Nintendo/Genesis person but also has a PS1, Saturn, and all the current systems. I was friends with him at one point and this was before I even knew he was a fellow gaming freak :(

Not to threadjack, but I just found out a few days ago that the girl I am dating is an old school gamer. She has an NES with over 50 games! @_@ I was so impressed. I came over, we beat Bubble Bobble and I was happy all night :embarrassed:

I used to work with a bunch of current gen players a few of which had quite extensive collections for their machines but they all thought I was weird for trying to get a complete DC collection guess they just didn't get why I was buying up cheap crappy games over the newest releases. Takes all sorts really.

I think anyone who was in the target demographic during Atari's original reign was a "gamer" back then, try not to be too shocked. What really set my geek heart aflutter, though, was when the hot older woman at my last job brought up Custer's Revenge in casual conversation.

My boss goes to CGE every year! My dad! :P

Everyone at my dads work calls me when they need something. I have come on here looking to buy stuff as favors for people at his work. People have called me to see what they should get there kids. Its cool.
