Those sound pretty cool.
Wonder how they will really turn out.

Isn't there a feeling of deja vu with the Jak games with Naughty Dog? They did three Crash Bandicoot platformers on the PS1 and a racing game and it's the same with the Jak games too now. Wonder if that goes for any game - sequel it a few times then turn into a racing game.

Why has the industry decided that sequels must be a yearly occurance?
Honestly I think sequels are waaaaaaaay too close together in general. Makes the whole series pale so quickly. I think Final Fantasy has a good schedule for sequels.

Those are all really good series, so those games are all welcomed.

oh wow a jak racing game.
I stopped buying the ratchet games after 2, never bothered with sly or jak. I also think a racing game is a bad move.
Hmm I heard dog was done with the Jak series. This must be there cash in then. While I have ye to play Jak 3 the vehicals in the Jak series have just plain sucked. They controlled like boats and were pretty slow. Well CTR was a good game so maybe theyll pull it off.

Crash Nitro Kart was very uninspiring though so I wouldn't hold out too much hope.

I haven't played Sly 2 even, but based on my experience with the first game and what I heard about the sales of it, I'm really pleased that it got one sequel, let alone two. As far as character-based racers, didn't that whole market implode upon itself a few years ago with the Muppets, Antz, Disney, etc. getting in on the scene?

Doesn't it seem like making a cart racer with your characters seem like milking the cash cow of late?

There were Mega Man, Sonic, and Final Fantasy cart racers long ago. We just didn't get to see them.
But then, I think the Shrek and Konami cart racers are really starting to push it a little. (Remember the fake screenshots of the LOTR racer?)

The new sly looks good, but I'm a little worried about the new Ratchet...It looks like it's getting a bit too serious-toned for Its own good.

Well lets correct some statements before we start beating up on the Naughty Dog legacy
Crash Nitro Kart was very uninspiring though so I wouldn't hold out too much hope.
This game was not done by NaughtyDog. They did CTR for the PSOne. This one was done by I think Travelers Tales (who also did the last Crash game) and they did it horribly.
Doesn't it seem like making a cart racer with your characters seem like milking the cash cow of late? Thats been something thats happened with successful characters for quite a long time. However spend a little time reading up in some of the magazines. This isnt going to be your straight forward kart racer. In EGM or Gi this month where they talk about this very thing they say that the racer plays much more like the side driving missions in Jak3 where your not racing against the 7 other badguys to win. Your completing missions and other things to save the world
The new sly looks good, but I'm a little worried about the new Ratchet...It looks like it's getting a bit too serious-toned for Its own good.
Ratchet is just taking the evolution that the game was already heading down. That darker path. For now Clank is gone and Ratchet is going to be weilding some spiffy armor and stuff. Change in a series like this is what will keep it alive and Insomaniac hasnt let me down with anything they have done for Sony, so I'd not be TOO worried if I were you.
Sony has realised that they need to keep these titles fresh and since these are the closest things that they have to a mascot (though they dont sell them like Nintendo or Sega ever has) I'd expect a title or two from them almost yearly since thats about what Nintendo and Sega (and anyone else with "THE" character does).

Apologies for that. Traveller's Tales did the fantastic Muppet Racemania for PS1 so you'd probably expect better of them.

Pardon me, but is devilman being sarcastic about the greatness of Muppet Racemania?
