Teamxbox recently did an interview with the CEO of AGEIA discussing their new physics processing unit. They discussed when games would utilize it, how and who would manufacture it, and even a vague answer as to whether or not it would be in a next generation console.

"The company's PhysX chip, the world's first dedicated Physics Processing Unit (PPU), will be supported in the next-generation line-up from Ubisoft and it is expected other publishers will jump on board. On top of that, AGEIA’s NovodeX Physics SDK is an official Xbox real-time physics middleware tool that will exploit the multicore architecture of the Xbox 360..."

Ubisoft enjoyed an enormous success with splinter cell on the xbox.

"The firm expects Microsoft to ship about 3 million units of the Xbox 2 worldwide in the December quarter."
