:eek 2: @_@ :D I'll trade you my Lunar Lander cab #2400 for that Missile Command and your girlfriend (It's not what you think...I'm married...but your gf obviously has a talent for game hunting). Straight across trade...think about it...

A gift like that, is a rare thing indeed. Um, marry her. Now. When a woman gives you candy, it says a small bit. When she gives you a working cabnet of missle comand, she is a keeper! Its a very beautifull gift. I need to drool now.

I'm jeolous, but not about the girl. My wife would buy me cab after cab if it wasnt for the fact that we're poor. Damn, "goods" and "services" and their "costs", .... Damn it all to hell.

Good for you though.

I called Capt. Wrong from the coin-op auction as he could not attend due to previous plans. I told him what was there and he said that I had permission to buy the Missile Command jokingly.

We talked about how much it might go for, and we thought it'd go for more, so when I was able to get it for $500 (plus taxes and the credit card use fee) it seemed like a steal. I was really in the market for a pinball machine or a Megatouch, but those were going for quite a bit as there were quite a few operators there. There was also an original Star Wars (not cockpit), and an original Ms. Pac-Man, as well as a Tempest and a Space Invaders, but I made a snap decision to raise the buyer number as the bidding was slowing down around $450. Plus, as it's cabaret size, I was able to fit it perfectly in the back of the Nissan Murano, which I couldn't do with a full-size or pinball machine. It was totally a snap decision.

When I got it to Capt. Wrong's house, we noticed some things like the small crack in the front, but figured that it was still a good find considering the low serial number, the great condition of the marquee graphic and the the fact that it functioned perfectly. As I had already picked up the Missile Command, I had to go before they did the cocktail Donkey Kong to resist temptation to make another trip back for pickup.

Other items available: Tekken 5, Tekken Tag, Tekken 3,Area 51, Turkey Hunt USA, CarnEvil, Zombie Revenge, Street Fighter, Sega NASCAR 2 cockpit, some Golden Tees, a Sega Harley Davidson racing, Pole Position (not cockpit), a Hang-On 2 Player, and a ton of those AIGate macgines with Windows PCs in them.

Not too bad for my first coin-op auction.

Yes, I am a keeper. ;)

I stopped by to see how long after I left his house, the Captain would post the story. I knew when I was buying it that it would give him some bragging rights for a day or so. :D

I only have older brothers. :(

BTW- it took him about an hour after I left to post this grateful thread.

Yeah, she's a keeper. I'm not suprized to see she's been here as one of the first things she said was "Well, now you have something to tell your friends at Digital Press about." LOL

Saddly, I got a ton of things to do today, but later this week I'm spending some quality time with me and the Missle Command. I'm trying to teach the Wench how to play. She's getting better, but I don't want her to get too good. She already kills me at DDR and can match me at Puzzle Fighter most of the time. ;)

WOW!! Double Awesome!!!..You ROCK!!

I'm looking to buy a Pin....hopefully at auction yet I'll be pain to get it home without taking the right vehicle.
And someone else with me.
That has to be a planned, all day affair for me..

Ahh the Megatouch prices at auction are insane sometimes...You'll be bidding on stuff and when they get to these the prices jump super high...
I remember the first time I bid on a Megatouch..I went up to $300.00 and was buried as it went for over $900.00..Even the old machines go high in price..
Also a lot of shill bidding goes on at these places..

I paid $350.00 for my Touchmaster 7000 at auction..and the same one next to it sold for $750.00
I was shocked when I won it....It's worth the $750.00 IMO but at auction you'd figure it would be less.
Why did I get it for $350.00...Well apparently someone took out the coin mech and the machine wasn't set on Free Play..So upon turning it on as they auctioned it off it didn't credit....it looked like it wasn't working right.
That's all I could figure as the two-three guys I was bidding against just stopped bidding and I won...

They go so fast at the auctions, the owner may have been away,or shill bidding and couldn't walk up to the machine to fix it after actually bidding on it...
I call it Sabotage..as it's also done at Auto auctions..
I had no idea I would win it,after watching so many others soar over $500.00

I get it home put the machine on Free play, add a Coin Mech and I'm set...(Machine is mint and recommended if you ever think about getting a Touchscreen machine..

I had went there to pick up some PCBs and had my Eye on a Neo Geo 4 and 6 slot cab..
Once I won the Touchmaster and finding out they weren't getting to the two machines on till way later I decided to leave..

I vote Captain Wrong's Wench as the new DP spokesmodel. 8-)

Thats an awesome find...I cant believe it has such a low serial number. Did you notice the serial before you bought it?

That is indeed a wonderfull find -- the low serial number and the fact it works is worth the cost alone. Yes, it will require some work, but I think you'd consider that a labor of love. ;)

And I love how the woman comes here also to tell her story. :)

Now if only someone would buy me a sit down Star Wars Arcade game..... :P

I knew the serial number was low, so I figured that made it worth more money.

As for marriage, Capt. Wrong will make an honest woman out of me someday, in due time. As for now, we have our separate places, and I have no game at all here since I gave Capt. Wring his PS2 back after picking up GT4 for him at Costco.

With all this talk about the Xbox 360 *possibly* not being backwards compatible, I may be buying myself an Xbox to reward myself for the good auction find.

Now if I would have scored a Megatouch it would have been all cool, but I'm missing my Bust-a-Move and DDR.

What games are on the Touchmaster?
