Ice Climber was the first game for NES right? A guy says that Mario Bros was the first game for NES, but what I know, Mario Bros came in 1986, but Ice Climber was released in 1985.
Can anyone confirm this? I need to be 100% sure.
Is there also a list where I can find all NES games released and sorted by date?

Yes it was. So that the NES was considered more of a toy that a video game system.

Yup, actually the original United States NES TV commercials promote it as that "...will you be the first to play with R.O.B.?" The original NES launch came with the console, controllers, zapper, R.O.B., a Gyromite cartridge, and a Duck Hunt cartridge.
...and people say the PS2 launch was lackluster. :D

That's what I don't understand. With the test launch of the NES in New York in late 85 and LA in early 86, there WERE 17 games available. I don't know how anyone can say any game is the 'first', just like every other console launch has more then one game released with the system. :hmm:

Wow... I didnt know the launch NES consoles had all that stuff included with it. I think I was about 4-6 months old when the NES was first released, so I didnt get to experience it. I didnt get an NES until 1989-1990, cant remember for sure.

Yep, as others have said, the NES was released with 17 games (I think). All of them are "Black Box" titles. Some of them include Gyromite, Duck Hunt, Stack Up, Hogans Alley, and others.

"...will you be the first to play with R.O.B.?"
My friend Rob's luck changed dramatically with the ladies when Nintendo came out with that slogan...he used it as his pick-up line!

It wasn't like a special launch bundle or anything, that was simply what the first release had in the box. (just like most people got it when it had a Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt combo cart) Yes there were 17 black box titles, but Gyromite and Duck Hunt were what was included in the original NES release retail package.
