well, I'v been working on an atari 7800 s-video mod.
Frustrating, to say the least.
http://home.earthlink.net/~resqsoft/7800_mod.htm
That is the mod, for reference. Heh.
Now, the problem is, composite a/v works, albeit a bit dimly. When I connect the wires to s-video instead..nothing. I originally wired it s-video, and then desoldered to test a/v, to make sure my circuit works..then put the wires back on. (the first time, i put chroma and luma on backwards. haha. )
I removed the RF completely from this system. When I used +5 off of the RF's former placement, it worked on composite a/v. S video? No effect. All I get is rolling grey bars....I can see SOME of the picture in this rolling....
Any ideas? When I did a coleco mod, this was fixed by more grounding.....more grounding is not helping this. Is there a better spot for +5?
Later edit:
IT works.
I had to connect luma out to chroma out. whatever. it works.
