Recently Ive been playing the first X-com game yet again.
Was anyone else a fan of the series?
It took me a while to get into Terror, due to the fact that you are underwater and at the beginning one hit means your character dies :(
I played a demo for Interceptor and enjoyed it. Played a demo for apocalpyse and hated it. And am still waiting in hopes they release the FPS based on it :)
Anyone else enjoy these games??

X-Com UFO Defense and Terror from the deep are two of my favorite games ever. I first played X-Com on a demo 3.5" floppy from a magazine when it was new. I bought it soon after and have played both of them through many times since.
I dont really care for the others. Have you ever played Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel? It is similar to X-Com and also quite a fun game.

I enjoyed playing UFO defence, even though I sucked at it and it had speed problems (despite using a slow down program).
I might have to go back and look at Interceptor.. when i played the demo back when it was released all I could say was "Descent: Freespace craps all over this". IIRC Wing Commander: Prophecy came out around the same time too, which really killed interceptor.
Have you tried X-Com: Enforcer ? Its a decent (but mindless) little 3rd person shooter released in 2001.

X-Com was great, lapped it up whilst at university. But I was already a massive fan of the Gollop brother's work with previous releases such as Chaos, Rebelstar and Laser Squad.
I love UFO: Enemie Unknown, still have it installed on the old 486. I really should try to finish it some day, I'm right at the end, just need to capture some alien leaders so I can go to Mars. Only got to play the demo of Terror of the Deep but I'll try to track down the full game some day.
Speaking of Gollop, has anyone played Magic and Mayhem (http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?gameid=1968)?

I first played X-Com when it was included on a demo disc with PCGamer magazine. I stayed up all night playing that one level again and again. I never owned the full game on PC, but I did buy it for the Playstation.

My brother and I played UFO: Enemy Unknown a lot - it's such a great game, with all the research you can do, the stats on your soldiers etc, very complex. We had it on Amiga back then, the game got slower and slower over time, sometimes you could take your lunch while the computer calculated its moves ;) Still an amazing game, never finished it though, although I came pretty far ... never got into the other parts much.
