Return to Vice City and a Saving Question

How far are people her ein Vice City (if you're still playing it)? Also, yesterday I was doing a couple missions and catching up on robbing stores and rampages and saved my game after I realized I can get a 5-star wanted level. So I used the Rhino Tank code for a few minutes to cause some good old-fashioned chaos and check out the FBI trucks and I reloaded my normal game and went on my merry way...

So I finished another Rampage and saved my game and got a message saying cheat codes may have bene used and may affect saved game- i didn't notice the warning till after I saved. Now I didn't save using the Tank code and yet I'm getting this- anyone else get this?

Yes, it happens to me almost all the time when i use cheats, it wont necessarily screw your data but it MAY, there is like a 50/50 chance, so...beware..

IVe tried all the codes never had any issues with my data

The screwed up part is when I first started playing and used the 1st Weapons cheat, I never got that message when I was saving my games. Then I completely restarted without cheats when I learne dof the packages glitch and now this!

Sure, i'm not that far in the game (Just unlocked Starfish Island) but I have the 5 properties on the first island, 31 packages and finally leanring my way and I don't want to restart again!

See... now this is what happens when you CHEAT. Shoulda saved the codes for AFTER you finished the game.

Cheaters never prosper. And they get damaged saves on their memory cards, too. :P

Now see I didn't know about the glitches when I first started playing..plus I do have a 2nd saved game (I forget exactly where I am in it though) as a backup nd for playing around with codes sometimes too.

I must admit, cheating in VC is tempting, but i ever do it during the missions, only after i save and then go mess around with peds, like killing them and so forth. >)

cheating is the only way to beat the game unless you want to be stuck in the game and never beat any levels and have to replay them over and over.

I beat Vice City and traded it for NES carts already :D


P.S. the only codes that will screw with your save are the "pedestrians riot" and "pedestrians attack you" codes.

I only use the codes to goof around between misisons myself actually. Britboy, I didn't know only those couple codes screw your game up- when I first heard about the "hidden package glistch" i thought it was for all codes (from car son water to the tank to the 3 weapon codes).

Update: No more warning when I saved my game..I'm happy and Rampaging once more!

I still think the "hidden packages glitch" is a bogus rumor. Also, supposedly saving at the ice cream factory sometimes glitches your save, but I personally never had any problems with it. Thats what backup saves are for anyway.

i was trying to save at a place where i didnt have a garage so i just rode my bike up to the tape got off and ot back on and saved bad idea now i have to start over
