Since apparently it is gonna come out on the PS2 over in the US, I was curious if anyone had played PIU and how they liked it. I actually played PIU before I had heard of DDR and for a while, I liked it a lot better.
What are your favorite songs on it?
I like most of the Banya, Clon, etc... mostly stuff from the first premiere arcade game since thats what I have played the most.
I wonder if Red Octane or BnS will put out a PIU pad.

Yes, I absolutely love Pump it Up. The step charts are tons better than the DDR step charts. Being able to play Empire of the Sun in the comfort of my own home will give me orgasms. And the other overplayed usuals like Turkey March, Beethoven Virus...

Speaking of those, I cant pass Turkey March to save my life... but im really not that good at PIU or DDR. On DDR I can only pass assorted songs on Standard. :/

Tried it once and didn't appeal to me as much as DDR does.

That middle button really messes me up when I have been playing DDR for a while. I failed Beethoven Virus on PIU's light mode b/c I kept missing the arrows. :/

Yep, I played it before DDR. And I prefer it.
I just like the music alot better, especially...dammit I can't remember it. Something like Novasonic?

I really like some of the songs, but I can't stand that middle arrow. I think that it just seems to lack the polish of DDR, but maybe I've only played the early mixes.

I played it in the arcade and I hate the way the arrows are laid out. LOL

Yar. Everybody that gets really good at DDR eventually gets bored with DDR. And 99% of the time they switch to Pump It Up if it's available.
@Lefthand Charlie: Volcano Falls has...Exceed 2? Some mix that's really new. And it's excellent.

DJ DOC is freakin entertainment. The Novasonic stuff is pretty nifty as well.
Honestly though I like both games, and don't play either that often.

Well, I probably wont get into it, because I dont feel like spending another $100 on a dance pad.

Pump It Up is enjoyable, but I prefer DDR due to the song selection. Beethoven Virus is my favorite PIU song.

The home Pump it Up mats are generally known for being some of the sturdiest soft mats available, short of Ignitions. Hopefully the US version will continue this trend. I suspect the game and pad bundle will go for $60, or $70 at the absolute most.

I really just can't get into Pump It Up. It seems to take the place of DDR machines in arcades when the DDR machines are rotated out to locations that will make more money. In other words Pump It Up is shoved in arcades so they'll have "some kind of dancing game" and DDR is pushed up into the more heavily visited routes. At least that's how it goes around here.

Pump It Up is a quality dancing game though. The mall arcade around here replaced the DDR machine with EZ2Dancer. "Some kind of dancing game" is really the only positive thing you can say about EZ2Dancer.
