I'm a newbe at emulation, and i would like some help in finding the best NES and SNES emulators on the net. I figure i might as well save meself a lot of time and ask the experts on this one. LOL

www.zophar.net is the best place for emulators, translation patches,a nd links to ROM sites. Have your pop up defences on before going there, though. :)

There are also some of us here on the forum with healthy ROM collections in the areas about which you are inquiring. There used to be a ROM request thread stickied around here somewhere - I can't find it, though.

At any rate - you may certainly PM me re: files of this nature. Like Soul said, zophar's is the best for emulators; FCE Ultra is generally the best NES one, and SNES 9x is the one I use for SNES.

i use www.emulator-zone.com to get emulators, and www.coolrom.com for roms. the only downside to coolrom.com is that they make you vote for them in the top 50 roms list before you can download the roms, or else the download is corrupt. i use zSNES for my SNES emulation, and NEStron for NES. both can be found at emulator-zone.

FCE Ultra is generally the best NES one, and SNES 9x is the one I use for SNES.
I would have said virtuanes for the NES. More mappers are supported, also.

I've always been a fan of www.PlanetEmu.net for years now for emulators and for grabbing the odd game here or there.

Same for www.Playagain.net.

They're both in French, but navigation is simple as pie.

Or, better yet, get newsgroup access and check out anything with .emulators. in it.

I've been somewhat of an emulation zealot over the past few years, so you can also ask me with questions, and I'll drop you with, for my money, the best rom site there is. You can find almost every friggin' rom in existence here.

They were kind of irritating enough alive, but dead, everything they say F'ing shatter(hand)s windows.

Actually, I always liked zsnes best personally, but I haven't messed with emus (or other flightless birds for that matter) or Ramu (Lum doesn't like that ya know) for a long time now.

Basically I just found that and stuck with it.

The NES emus I used to use are ancient by now, and no longer being updated.

DC emus are fun (emuls that run on a DC I mean... not birds from the district. Pigeons own dude!).

The snes emulator of choice is Zsnes. It has more features and a better interface than snes9x (although, in terms of emulation, they are virtually identical).

There are many NES emulators that are of high quality. The one I like best is Nestopia.

Is there any news regarding emulation on the PSP? I'm sure the NES will be the first to come but I want to play me some Phantasy Star : SMS at work!

http://www.zopher.net Is a good place to get emulators.

For NES emulators, LoopyNES and FCE Ultra are the best. NESticle is Ok. BTW, "LoopyNES 10-18-99 Beta" can run "Castlevania 3" very good as long as you don't watch the the opening screen that comes before the title screen.

For SNES, ZSNES is the best! I can't any of the others to work correctly (Snes9x can't handle transpartcy on my PCs, and the others cause my PCs to glitch up)

BTW, If you are going to emulate PlayStation, get "Bleem!" or "AdriPSX". Yes, I can get "Bleem!" to work right for me! 8-)
