Um... by law doesn't the government have to delete all that stuff before they can auction off the computer?

I think the stuff should have been deleted but I've bought a lot of used computer with data intact. Most of the computers I bought wouldn't power up and I guess the illiterate high school dropouts they hired to wipe the data assumed non working PC = no data. of course all the computers I got were working fine after a bit of work. The most common problem with power cable wasn't plugged to the mobo.

(Of all the computer I got, the best deal was $10 for a PowerPC 9600 with 400MHz Mach V card and 128 MB RAM and a pair of 2GB HDs full of payroll data)
