Article HERE (scroll down to the last one at the bottom) (http://www.wired.com/news/business/0,1367,67296,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_6).

With Namco involved, this just might work. And maybe I'm crazy, but I'd love to see them keep everything 2D for at least ONE Peanuts game. And that would be awesome. :D

I'll be impressed if they do better than a cart racer.

LOL

Yeah, this could be really cool, especially now that the machines have the power to make it look like a peanuts cartoon. There really haven't been too many Peanuts games have there? The only one I can think of is some Snoopy's wacky track 'n' field thing on the NES. There was probably something for an earlier console.

A peanuts adventure game (a-la Sierra) would be awesome!

Yeah, Snoopy and the Red Baron on the 2600.

And Snoopy Tennis and Snoopy's Magic Show on the GB

Apparantly there was a proto for Good Luck, Charlie Brown found (2600 title), but I don't think I've ever played the ROM.

I'd be up for a Peanuts "adventure" style game. Might be pretty fun. Or a Peanuts GTA style game where Charlie Brown finally gives Lucy her just desserts via a football through the head.

It's going to be generic sports/racing/whatever. You really can't do much with the Peanuts license, especially without Schultz around to oversee the product's direction. It's not like you can, I don't know, write a new Peanuts story and craft an adventure game out of it. Peanuts wasn't really known for its plots, you know?

Perhaps a Peanuts football game or did EA purchase the rights to that already?

There was also one for the Amiga called Snoopy and Peanuts: The Case of the Lost Blanket

There's a couple of Peanuts games released in Japan for the Super Famicom as well.

Well, Bill Melendez has been continuing on with Peanuts specials and such since Schulz died, so anything's possible.

This was kinda frustrating back in the day, there were like 6 or so events that were little mini-games...see if I can remember em all...

1. Snoopy throws a boot (Discus)
2. Snoopy Walks with pizzas down a track (Juggle)
3. Potato Sack Race
4. Something else I'm forgetting
5. Snoopy Pole Vault

bah. Good memories now, although I'm sure the game didn't get that much use. I should play it again...

Good to hear. I'm glad if anyone will be doing it, it will be Namco. They are one of the best in my opinion.

Linus Unleashed!
Snoopy vs. Faron: Deathmatch
Where's Charlotte Braun?
Shermy's Antarctic Quest
Marcie's Dungeon
Adventures in Accounting (Starring Panama Van Pelt)
Violet's Beekeeping and Heroin Blunder

Excellent. But who's Faron? The cat next door?

Marcie's Dungeon
RPG? Or "AO" title? :smash: :whip:

There was also 2002's Where's The Blanket Charlie Brown? on PC

and I think the Pico had "Hide the Sausage Charlie Brown" but I could be mistaken on that.

I agree. The only reason I'm even interested in this is because it's Namco. Maybe they won't fuck it up.

Don't forget about Snoopy Tennis for GBC :)

I'm cautiously opimistic.

Perhaps they will give us a game based on the Peanuts Great Pumpkin sketch on Robot Chicken a few weeks ago?

LOL Thats exactly what I was thinking; either a cart racer or some clone with the liscensed characters in them (think Disney's Magical Tetris for the N64).

I would trust Namco to do a great kart game with them. In fact, while this may just be a pipe dream, I wouldn't mind having them show up in the Kart game that Namco's been working a lot on lately for Japanese arcades:

Now that would be great.

And I do think that the Peanuts style could be used in a great number of things, but knowing Namco, it will be something arcadey... and that's great by me!
