this seller is sort of an all in one package for why ebay is ruining the hobby. he links to some site called atariguide, see his listings for details. is this guy a part of the community, if so why is he using such insane starting prices?...as the gavel falls NO ONE has bid on any of his auctions!

i knew of atari guide before DP actually, i used to look at that site to just check the screen of the game and what the cart looks like. the prices were goofey then.
now he sells the games under the names via paypal buy it now. same games he has on ebay are not even helf the price for buying off his site.
seems screwy.
seems screwy to put a link to the rom file on your auctions too.

as the gavel falls, has been around for awhile now. I first noticed him and not dead yet, probably no relation, but similar names, bidding on rare atari items about a year or year and a half ago. He bought Atariguide.com which was auctioned off last year. Actually I believe someone posted a link to it in this very forum, although it was on the ezboard version. Seems he is a knowledgeable collector, but is using ebay's free listing day as free advertisement for his site. I don't think he actually wanted to sell anything, just was testing out new software. He did have over 1000 auctions listed! Actually if you check it out, I believe you would see the same items with cheaper, more realistic prices on his site.
Still though I thought this was a pretty stupid thing to do, most people are going to see his auctions and think he is a wacko with insane pricing and write him off.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I just did this because it was free posting day. I was also testing out my program which allows me to do all of this automatically, I spent about 15 minutes acutally creating one thousand auctions. Also you'll notice each page has a huge section with links to atariguide where the right prices are. Nobody is supposed to purchase anything in these auctions, but hey some people have. I'm way too busy right now trying to inventory 5,000 carts that are going onto the website, so I didn't really want to make any sales, but with a free listing day who could resist all the free advertising?
All of my prices are negotiable. I have my entire collection inventoried and on the website (and currently up for auction on ebay ), but I obviously do not want to part with many of these, but would for the prices listed. For alot of games I think my prices are actually quite reasonable, if you want to pick up a bunch of common carts you used to play as a kid, my prices can be better then ebay, and all of my stuff is guaranteed to work.
Here's a list of all carts for sale by price
