Mega Man - Lamest and Best "Man/Maverick" Ever.

Yes. I want to speak about the Megaman series. and specfically, the "Mans". you know, the ROBOT MASTERS! We know them well! Guts Man! Cut Man! Ice Man! Spark Man! Gemini Man! and then into the X-Series! Storm Eagle! Chill Penguin, Metal Shark.

ANYWAYS...throughout the *ENTIRE* Megaman series, sometimes you wondered what Capcom was smoking when they made certain....boss characters.

I want you to post what YOU belive to be the most LAMEST and Most AWESOME Megaman Bosses from any series ever. SO..I shall begin...

COMPASS MAN!

My favorite "Man" would have to be Metal Man from Mega Man II. I've always liked his design, plus his blades are oh-so handy in tight spots.

Runners-up for me include Cut Man (MM1), Snake Man (MM3) and Crash Man (MM2).

Mavericks... hmmm. I always liked the Octopus from MMX1... can't think of his name offhand, though.

In a perverted sense of mind, Hard Man from MM3 has one of the lamest names in the series.

I always thought Top Man was kind of lame too. He throws over sized tops at you? And his powerup really sucked too. Mega Man can turn grey and spin around really fast! YEAH!!!

I used to think Magnet Man was lame when I was young, but now when I think about it those things could really screw up Mega mans circuits. I wonder how Magnet Man protects himself from his magnets polarities?

Mega Man 2 had some questionable lame bosses too. Bubble Man, Air Man, Wood Man...

I think every Mega man has at least one lame boss, MM4's Dust Man, MM5's Wave Man, etc.

However, I still think they are pretty cool. However lame the boss may be, Capcom always made them the right way, fun to fight, and a decent ability to use.

My favorite Man... yeesh, that's a stumper. Iiiiiiiiii... I'll probably say Flash Man here on three accounts. 1. His stage is gorgeous with excellent music, 2. He has one of the more creative weapons in the series, and 3. I've always thought he had a good look, and one somewhat similar to Mega Man's. Sorta like the anti-Mega Man. Plus, don't you tell me that FLASH Man doesn't make for hilarious (albeit disturbing) mental images! LOL

Other cool designs in my book include Cut Man, Guts Man, Metal Man, Quick Man, Magnet Man, Gemini Man, Shadow Man, Bright Man, Dust Man, Pharoah Man, Gravity Man, Centaur Man, Shade Man, Slash Man, Search Man, Frost Man, and of course, Tengu Man.

My favorite Maverick? Hmmmmmmm... possibly Storm Eagle. He's badass, his arena takes place in the air, his stage is freaking awesome, and he's one of the harder Mavericks to take on in MMX as well. I also liked how Magna Centipede from MMX2 could bring together all sorts of junk to throw at you, and how Morph Moth starts out in his li'l cocoon form before becoming an adult is also really cool. Crush Crawfish from MMX3 is also damn hard to fight, and gotta love that claw of his.

Best boss? hmmm. Well the Gutsdozer isnt really a man but he was my favorite enemy.

But for actual robot master I have always liked....

Crash Man.

He kinda looked like megaman, had a cool weapon. I think I'd like him much more if I couldn't beat him so easilly with the Air Shooter.

Lamest: Skull Man. While i dont like MM4 at all, Skull Man has a lame-ass Wood Man ripoff weapon.

Dishonorable mention goes to Dust Man. What the hell is that you fire at enemies?!?!?"

Best. "Doc Robot" from Mega Man 3. That was one robot that could never quit. Having all 8 powers of the Robot Masters from Mega Man 2 and being 2 times stronger then the original batch was downright sweet.

My favorite (in terms of character design) will always be Heat Man from Mega Man II, I mean making him a giant zippo was just a great idea. I've also always thought Charge Man being a locomotive was pretty damn creative as well.

As for lamest? I'd have to say Snake Man - he's just like a humanoid robot dude in a snake costume or something - that just plain sucks.

Best robot master: Shadow Man

First of all, he's a freaking ROBOT NINJA. That's a combination of the two coolest nouns ever created. Also, his giant shurikens (the Shadow Blades) make this kick-ass buzzsaw noise when you throw 'em. Just ignore the fact that he gets totally owned by the ridiculously lame top spin.

Worst robot Master: Toad Man

He's a frog. And he jumps. Oh, and sometimes he makes it rain! OMG!!! He's also the most pathetically easy boss in any MM game ever. He's just a loser, plain & simple.

Best Maverick: THE ALMIGHTY CRUSH CRAWFISH!!!

What can be said about him that hasn't been said before? He is Badassery incarnate, your darkest nightmares come to life. He's my forum handle!! Best character ever, period.

Worst Maverick: Ground Scaravich

HE'S A FRICKIN' DUNG BEETLE!!!!! What else do you need to know? Even a mechanical onion is cooler than that. x_x

Sunstar is by far my favorite boss, he's one of those noble bosses who you almost respect despite his somewhat maniacal demeanor, plus he has the ability to destroy huge space stations with just his arm. I like the hunters from the GB games as well (except for Quint as Rocky said, just plain silly). Bass (as an enemy in the Battle Network games) is pretty crazy cool too.

For mavericks I like Storm Eagle's design, and Vile's personality the best, I mean Vile just sets up one of the major plot twists in MMX, and it takes a hell of a lot of firepower to take him down.

Launch octopus is the only maverick I remember off hand (from my own memory) that seemed cool (I haven't played most the X series in some time (or never in some cases).

I still haven't bought the SFC version of Rockman and Forte like I'd been meaning to.

Dust man is pretty lame. And top man.

Plantman is pretty lame, though I probably wouldn't mind him if it didn't remind me of an weird video that was on Beavis+B once that still gets stuck in my head sometimes (well the sound part of it anyway).

As far as lame mavericks, I always thought Cyberdillo...erm no that was a 3DO game. NM

Not that armor armadillo was exactly the hoopiest of froods either.

And I wonder what we would get by combining woodman, hardman, and spark man drill? That would be the most exiciting boss ever wood it not? (Sorry...)
