Next Gen Madden... Am I watching TV?

They just put up pictures of the next gen Madden on EA's site. The commerical is now online...

I'm watching the draft right now, and I haven't seen the commercial. The first hour is over, did I miss it? Or have they not shown it yet?

You're way late. There's another post about this, but the hell if I can find it.

Anyway, I was left totally underwhelmed by the trailer. Most of it wasn't actual gameplay, all replay cameras and such. The animation was stiff and unconvincing. Sure, it looks prettier. It's hardly the leap we should be expecting with a new console gen.

The best thing about the next generation of consoles is that it actually forces E.A. to make a new engine for Madden. Since they have the NFL license all to themselves, I'm forced to have to play Madden, so at least they are finally going to have a new engine and stop that cartoony look that they've had since the very first Madden on PS2.

Yeah, i did not see much actual gameplay footage in the commercial except for the strange looking play calling shots. i was never a fan of Madden play selection format (after playing the 2k games overlay format) and now they look even worse.

Otherwise, the pre-generated staged graphics look nice *yawn*

I am not impressed at all with this.

None of this is gonna be the ingame graphics, it's just a render like whoever is above me said.

And yeah, it's a crappy render as well. The annimations just look way too stiff.

EA went on the record saying that the commercial is simply an estimate of what the in-game graphics may look like. I'm confident that after some serious tweaking with the final system specs of the next-gen we'll see something much more polished.

All of you were expecting realistic looking players/fields?

And here I was hoping for better detailed peanut stands and better zooming on the hot dog tray for years to come...we are talking about the Madden series, right? LOL
