I was wondering, with the new systems coming down the pipe soon, I started thinking about the day when PS2's would sell for $49.99, and then I thought about the XBOX. Would there be a day when the original XBOX would sell for $49.99?

And I'm not talking about clearance or the phasing out of the system, in terms of just selling off the system to get rid of it. I'm talking like the price of the PS1, how it sells for $49.99 everywhere.

I can definitely see the PS2 eventually doing the same thing and being sold at $49.99 at some point, like in 2009 or something, but I'm not so sure about the XBOX.

They would probably have to redesign the XBOX to be able to sell it for $49.99. I'm not sure if they could remove the hard drive from it, and if the majority of games would still work with it or not. But just thinking about the cost of the components that are in it, I just don't see it selling below $99, in terms of a standard price.

The XBox is a powerful machine...and probably very expensive to produce...so I doubt very much it would go much below what it's at now. It could go to $129.99 in it's next price reduction. Lower than that? I have my doubts.

I doubt it. Usually when a system goes that low it's a redesigned model. I don't think we're going to see a mini XBox.

I doubt it ! but if they took out the hard drive and made the xbox 1 smaller but I doubt that will ever happen but if want to find a xbox cheaper then best bet is to get one used or get a lot of stuff to trade in at a store to get one brand new real cheap LOL ...
